dress help

Hi everyone,

So I only post occasionally, because my wedding is NYC and as a result I have been looking into different vendors then most people here... but I do read a lot of your posts because they are of course helpful to the overall planning process! Anyway, hello and thanks for your help!

I got a late start on my wedding planning, especially compared to most people on here. My date is 4/24 and we didn't book our RH until about a month ago. Then I got moving on my dress, because everywhere I went they told me how long it takes for the dress to come in once you order it, and I didn't want to give myself additional stress.

So, I finally made a decision and ordered my gown last week! I am very excited, but I knew that I would doubt my decision as soon as I made it. I am very very picky and did not see many gowns that I liked. I was deciding between 2 and finally went with one, because it was a bit more traditional. I did want something that was very fashion forward yet traditional. Now I am worried that maybe I should have gotten something with an even fuller skirt. Here is a link to a picture of my gown http://www.verawangonweddings.com/fashion/Gown.aspx?SubCategory=Top%2010%20Bridal%20Gowns&ProductId=12539.

What do you girls do if you start questioning your decision? I am still excited about it but I have been in a few other bridal stores since ordering it to help my BMs with dresses and I keep getting afraid that I will see something I love even more. Thanks for the help!!!

Re: dress help

couldnt see the dress the link was wanting me to sign in or something...

BUT if you really did love this dress, and u think its the one but ur worried about 2nd guessing, here's my advice cuz iwas worried about that too:

STOP LOOKING FOR OTHER GOWNS!!!!!!!!! this will definitely make u question ur pick cuz ur gonna keep seeing new things and wonder 'what if?' im weird and sentimental but it would make me feel like i were cheating on my dress if i did that

also, my bridal salon allows me to go try on the sample of my dress ANYTIME i want before mine comes in....no appointment or anything

i have done this about 3 or 4 times.....and this has been sooooooo great, because every time i put it on, i fall in love with it again!!! and it just reminds me why i chose it, and i wont have that shellshock when MINE comes in of 'really???? is this the dress i picked?'

so unless u really weren't thrilled to begin with (in which case id say keep looking) but if u really did think its the one and LOVE it....take my tips!!!!

HTH!!

I cant see the gown either Could you post a pic on here!?

I agree with Gina...stop looking at other gowns! While they may look great online...they arent 'your dress' and they probably wont give you that feeling you got when you decided yours was the one.

From my personal experience...alot of dresses look great on the hanger and on the computer. But when you actually put it on, its just not the same.

Re: dress help

Thanks so much! I am already feeling a little better. Do you think I should go back to the store and ask to try it on again and also take a photo? I don't have a picture of me in the dress because I was worried I would analyze it too much (I'm a freak, I know). Here is another link to the dress that might work - although you have to picture it in white!

1st of all- your dress is gorgeous!!

2nd- maybe you should go back and take a pic of yourself in it. That way you can always look back and remember why you feel in love with it...get that feelin all over again!
