went to try on dresses today....very depressing...I thought I would have a much easier time than I did. I only saw one dress that I even liked a little bit on me.
Can anyone reccommend a bridal shop where they are understanding of different body types and help you pick the right dress for your body?? TIA!!

The ladies at Helen's Wedding World on Austin Blvd in Commack are wonderful, as are the ladies at Burton's Bridal in Huntington. You don't need an appointment for the former, but you do for the later.

Re: dress help, please!
I really liked the people at Elena's and the girl who helped me in Lillette's was very nice. I actually wound up with a dress at Macy's in Manhasset, although the lady that helped me was just eh.

Re: dress help, please!
i had good experiences with the salespeople at fantasias and bridal suite of centereach (where i bought my dress). both had people there to assist you in finding dresses to try on and such. they both had a good selection, all types of dresses, and great prices :) good luck! don't get discouraged, it usually takes trying on a lot of dresses before you find your dress! be open to all styles, even if you dont think you will look good in a particular style, trying it on can't hurt! lacey

I 2nd Renate's in Lindenhurst, very helpful, not rushed. Also Lillette's was great. Geri suggested a number of different style dresses and was very nice.
Good luck...don't get down!

Re: dress help, please!
I third Lilettes! I brought all these pictures of dresses with thick straps, but the sales woman there (Gerri, she is so sweet) said that she didn't think that look would be good for me. So she showed me what she thought was flattering for my type (I'm both curvy and busty) and I bought the first dress I tried on! I tried on a few others there and I liked them as well but not as much. So she really helped to pick a great style for me.
