my dress is in! I'm super anxious though because of sizing. They had to order, in my opinion a pretty large size (2 sizes larger than my street clothes and the size of my waist and hips) because of my chest size. I'm also on meds for my back that are making me lose weight since it suppresses my appetite and sometimes I forget to eat (I know, that sounds ridiculous, haha) I've always been top heavy so i expected alterations would be an issue. I'm just getting nervous.
I know they can alter the dress, I'm just not sure how much. Any ideas? Anyone in a similar situation? I really want to be excited, especially since my mom and sister are going to see the dress for the first time at the try on, but I'm also super anxious.
edited for poor spelling and my apparent hate for capitalizing letters.

Try it on! It might not be as bad as you think.

I'm in the same boat! When I ordered my dress I weighed 163 and fit into the sample size 10, but tight. They ordered me a 14.
Now I'm down 25 pounds, and I'm terrified to try it on!

I don't know much about wedding gowns, but I would think that the alterations people have this kind of thing happen all the time. Try not to worry so much and just enjoy the excitement of trying it on for your mom and sister! Good luck! :)

They ordered me 2 sizes above my street size also. Don't stress until you have too. It might not be as bad as you think!

It's definitely easier to size dresses down than up, so I think you'll be just fine

Omg ur dress is in. Soo lucky. When did u order it? From where?
I agree too so easy to take it in rather that than let it out or add a corset. Did u have a cap on alterations?

I'm super nervous bc I have it the other way around! I was over a size by .5 of an inch in the waist. Bc my dress has a corset back they ordered me he smaller size. They said as long as I don't gain more than 5 lbs between now and may I should be fine and need pretty much no alteration except bustle and hem. My dress comes in in feb and I'm terrified I won't fit!!

Girls as long as you have a good seamtress working on your dress you'll be ok. The wedding I was at last night the girl bought a size six almost a year ago and is now 7 months pregnant. The dress looked amazing.

I'm in the same boat as you! I was all over the place with my measurements..bust size 4, waist size 6 and hips size 8 so they decided best to order me a size 8. I'm a lil worried when my dress comes in but hopefully alterations will be okay.

That's exciting! Don't stress. Like everyone said its all about the seamstress.
I was dieting when I ordered my dress and fit into the runway sample (it was tight) it was an altered size 4. They ordered me a size 6. I am hoping when the time comes (in over a year from now!) that I will fit in it. It's hard to maintain a certain weight from when you order your dress, even if its a fluctuation of 5 pounds up or down.
