I am having a major problem with Bridal Suite in Patchogue, I ordered my dresses from them:
1) I ordered my dress there last April it is not in yet. Up until yesterday they could not give me a date that it would be in
2) One of my bridesmaids lives in FL (FSIL) she had her measurements taken and she called them in. Well, they said that all 3 FSILs were a size 10. We argued with her there that this was not possible for the one in FLA because she is a size 1-3 in regular clothes. They said that her boobs make her that size. She has breast implants. Well, the dress comes in. One sister brings it to FL for her to try on and she says that 2 of her can fit in there and that the seamstress down in FLA says it can't be fixed. She calls the store up here to see if they can order her a new dress. The woman was EXTREMELY rude to her and told her NO! It was too close to the wedding 4months. She then told FSIL that she was giving her (the sales girl) a headache and that she could not help her nor is she under the cap at her store because it was called in.
3) They have shown my MOH the wrong dress 2 times. I asked her to go and try on the dress. She makes an appointment. She has her infant daughter with her. They leave her standing there with her daughter for over a half hour while they look for her dress. While she is waiting the woman says to her do you want to come back. My MOH tells her that she needs to try on the dress because there was a problem with one of the other girls dresses. The salesgirl then tells her that it is her job to make the bride not be so obsessive!
4) We (my mother & I) go ther last Saturday to talk to my salesgirl and the owner about people being so rude to my BP and the problem with the dresses. They apologize and tell me that the dress from FLA can be done in one day since FSIL is not arriving until the Wed before my Sat AM wedding.
5) So now my cousin goes on Friday, 6 days after this conversation, to try on her dress (with an appointment) and she was waiting for over 40 minutes when I called her to see how things we going and she said I am still here. After yelling a few choice words-- I told her where to find the dress. Then told her that I wanted to speak to the owner.
6) I spoke to the owner and she was trying to tell me that it was all my girls' fault. That they were nasty and rude. I know my girls, these 3 especially, are too mushy, they don't yell or get nasty. My girls also feel like I chose this place and they have no right to complain and be rude. My girls had dealt with 2 different sales girls through this. Their attitude is very flip and non-caring!
With all the other stress of planning a wedding and now this I really feel like I give up and I no longer want my wedding! I really just want it to go away!

Re: Dress Mess--long
For my cousins wedding in May, we went to try on bridesmaid dresses 2 weeks ago and my sisters came in with a HUGE stain on it. They reorded it and we got it in 2 weeks!!! We got it at the Wedding Center in Commack - try them if they are being so unreasonable!

I would never recommend this place to anyone, how rude !!!!
I am sorry you need to go through this crap with them. Tell them, that if this behavior continues, you will report them to the BBB and post on here about how they are acting, I am sure their attitudes will change.
Good Luck, you don't deserve this stress so close to your wedding.

Re: Dress Mess--long
I am so sorry to hear about your experience with Bridal Suite. I can only say that I sympathize as I also had some very bad experiences with them. I had posted most of them here previously so I won't post it all again but I would say to all those of you who have ordered anything from Patchogue Bridal Suite that you must, must, must keep on top of them. Make sure that you call them every week or every day if need be, especially those of you who have ordered headpieces from them.
I ordered my headpiece more than a year and a half before my wedding. They assured me that it would be ordered and that they would store it for me until my wedding. My dress took 6 months and when I asked about my headpiece they told me it was on order and would be in. When I hadn't heard anything about it 8 months before my wedding day, I called them again and they assured me that it was ordered and it would be in within a month....of course a month later, nothing. Now I was getting annoyed. In the course of all this they moved and I was told that it would be a few weeks before they would be able to check on it and get back to me. Of course no one ever did. I called them back again and they told me again that it was on order. We are now at 6 months before the wedding and still no headpiece which supposedly had been ordered more than a year before. Now I got mad. I spoke to Bea, the owner, and told her I wanted a definate answer or I was going to the BBB. She checked and told me that apparently the manufacturer had gone out of business and that I would now have to order a different headpiece. Are you kidding me? I ordered this over a year ago, when did they go out of business? I told her I was going to check into it myself. At that point she offered to take the sample she had in the store and have the headpiece handmade for me at her expense. I agreed to this and it did turn out beautifully. However, I found out later, completely by accident, from my salesperson, that my headpiece had NEVER been ordered to begin with. The person in charge of the ordering had ordered my dress but not the headpiece. By the time I spoke to the owner and she realized that it hadn't been ordered the headpiece I wanted had been discontinued. The company was in fact still in business. I was furious (I hate people who lie), but since I found this out at my last fitting (for which I waited 2 hours only to find that my dress wasn't finished) I figured it wasn't wise to say anything.
Anytime anyone asks about Patchogue Bridal Suite on this board I try to warn them away. They are terrible to do business with and I would never recommend them.
Jamie, I would make a trip to the store and speak to Bea in person. Ask her to see the order sheet for your dress so you can see when it was ordered. There is no way that it should take a year for your dress to come in. Furthermore, the store can call the manufacturer to at least get a tentative date that the dress will ship. You can also call the manufacturer yourself to find out where your dress is. I wish you the best of luck.

Re: Dress Mess--long
That totally s^cks. I would demand that they order another dress for you FL BM. I would NOT leave it to the last minute! They might end up doing a p*ss poor job!!! 4 months is PLENTY of time to reorder the dress. I know it sounds like a pain is the a$$ but, I would not do this on the phone I would go in person. these places kill me. It's the most stressful time in a womans life & they have to add to it. We had a similiar problem w/ my friends wedding but it was at Flowerama in Elmont. They skirts to our dresses came in olive green. they were SUPPOSED to be champagne. We went back 3 times before they got it right!!!
I'm sending you hugs! Just try to relax & I'm sure everything will work out in the end!!

Re: Dress Mess--long
I have been there in person. Last Saturday, I spoke with Bea in person and Lee. I love Lee by the way (she was crying over this because she is my salesperson and not the person that we had a problem with)
I was there again yesterday to make sure that I got everything that Bea told me in writing. Her attitude was flip and not caring! I just want to get this done and over with.
I mentioned suing her for bring my dresses to her Riverhead warehouse, the BBB and this board. It did not seem to bother her because the store was packed.
I wish that I had know about this board then because had I read what you said Wendy, I NEVER would have went there.
Thank you all for the support. I will keep you all updated.

Re: Dress Mess--long
I am so sorry to hear this. I have heard so many awful things about that place. I went there and was completely ignored myself. The people just glared at me. I walked down the block and got a beautiful dress and excellent service at Paradise bridal. I hope this all works out for you. Please keep us posted. And definitely report them to BBB.

Re: Dress Mess--long
Also, threaten to call 'shame on you' or problem solvers maybe. One of my friends had problems with them there as well. So sorry you are going through this. I would harass and call them everyday and make THEIR life unbearable!

Re: Dress Mess--long
i woudl defintiely call the BBB and lodge a complaint - don't just threaten them with it - do it, then I would also get on the phone, call Channel 2, 5 and any other station that has problem solvers and might take this story public - this is the only way that other girls will not have to go through this....we haven't ordered our bp dresses yet but i will certainly NOT go there.....
let us know how it turns out.....
can you believe the nerve of some people - not caring about what a customer thinks or what happens o n their weddign day??
this whole post make me mad and i am not even the bride involved!

Re: Dress Mess--long
Thank you all for your support! I cannot begin to tell you how comforting it is. I have now discovered something new about myself, that I am not happy about--- when I am stressed my left eye swells shut-- needless to say I am not pretty today!
I did a search on the site for the store. I have read all the posts and I am going back there in two weeks armed with all my questions-- I read the one about the cap and I saved that so that incase they pull that I am ready and about the stains.
Thank you all again and I will keep you all updated!

Re: Dress Mess--long
I would also call the BBB and make a complaint now. Just to add one other warning. If you are having Bridal Suite do the alterations, make sure you check all the dresses completely before accepting them as finished. When I went to pick up my dress and my MOH dress, the MOH dress wasn't done (good thing I checked it first). The dress had beading hanging off the shoulder where it had been altered and it wasn't even ironed. To make matters worse the dress split during the reception (thankfully there was a jacket) and when I checked the stitching later it had only been basted with light thread and very loose stitches. Argghhh. This just gets me angry all over again. There was more, including my dress not hemmed correctly, but you get the idea.
I would absolutely complain to the BBB. Maybe you will get some action from Bea if she sees you are serious. I feel so badly for you having to go through this. I know how much aggravation this vendor can cause.

Re: Dress Mess--long
Thank you for the advice. I don't know what to do about that. I am afraid of the cost if we take the dress anywhere else. Now because the dress is coming in late that the length won't be right either because you cannot hem my dress. I was told that as long as I wore 2 1/2 inch heels which is normal for me then I would not need the hollow to hem charge-- I trusted them on this as professionals but now I am getting nervous.
I have found your previous posts and saved them so that I will be reminded to check all seams.
