Dress negotiating
Were you able to get anything off the price of your dress? They told me they can't because it's the manufacturers price but can work with me on discounts on my veil and my girls dresses. I was really hoping for something off my dress since I don't know if I'm wearing a veil

If it's a Maggie sottero dress, they don't. That designer makes ever store sell the dresses for the same prices. I didn't get anything off for that reason. Every store on li and even Kleinfelds quoted me the exact same price to the penny.

I had a Maggie dress and got either 12 or 15% off my dress by going to a trunk show.

I bought a dress and belt at the same time. Dress was originally 2100 and belt was about 200. I was able to talk her down to 2100 for both. Also, it's a small store so she let me pay cash and I didn't have to pay tax! ;)

I was able to get a little bit off both my dress and my veil because I was a repeat customer of the store. Always worth a shot to ask!

Try Burton Bridal, they are known to sell for the lowest price. I got my dress there during a trunk show and got $200 off. Then I asked 'can you do any better' and she took another $100 off. i was so proud of myself for asking.

Have you tried RK Bridal in the city? It's definitely a no frills type of place. Also, if you're willing to travel, give Vows' gown finder a try (from the TLC show 'I Found the Gown'). They heavily discount but it's because they sell samples. You have to be willing to travel since they're outside of Boston.

Trunk shows or reputable online sites are your best bet for discounts.

I went to Village Bridal and the dress I want was listed at 4500.00. I tried it on- didn't ask anything about price and she came back and told me she would give me the dress for 3777. plus 200 credit toward a veil. I think you can absolutely negotiate! I didn't even start my negotiating process. Also- I am looking for dresses that are on a preowned website- because my dress is so expensive. I settled on a deal for 1400.00- but I'm not sure if I'm going to go through with it!

Oh yea trunk shows are different. Maggie's allows them to do that.

I wasn't able to get a discount off my dress and was ready to walk out. The sales rep was able to speak to her manager and they gave me my cathedral veil that was $700 for free.Welcome New Vendors
