My matron of honor and her husband have been trying for over a year to get pregnant. And we're starting the search for BM dresses soon. But I want to find a dress for her that will accommodate a baby bump if she happens to get pregnant between now and the wedding. Has anyone seen any pretty A-line, full-length dress styles with shoulder straps (I am assuming that pregnant ladies can't wear longline corset type bras, so strapless dresses are out) anywhere? I don't know which designers to look at or which shops carry plus size or maternity type dresses. Thanks!!

Dress options for plus size/pregnant BM?
You can go to any place and they should help you find dresses that will work. At the bridal shows a few months back one of the models was 7 months pregnant and she looked beautiful in everything they put on her. Those shows are put on my the wedding center. p.s. I know the wedding center gets some bad reviews but I ordered my dress, my BM dresses and my invites from them. They were absolutely wonderful.

Probably a chiffon type fabric would work because its flowy.

My sister was trying while shopping for dresses. We ordered her dress either 2-3 sizes bigger. When the dress arrived she was about 5 months pregnant and it just fit with 2 months until my wedding. As a result the bridal shop ordered extra material and reconstructed a maternity dress. The she paid for alternations and material (which was the same cost as alterations). The dress was almost the same, the only difference was the bodice. The other girls had ruching from the top to the waist, her ruching ended under her bust. This is definitely something you want to discuss with the bridal shop. They should be able to advise you how to proceed. Ask about alternation prices and get them in writing.
edited to add: We had strapless dresses. She had cups sewn in. If the cups would not have worked she would have gotten thick straps and wore her bra.

Thanks so much ladies!
@Stephanie - I never thought to ask for alteration prices in writing, but that is a great idea!!
For my best friends wedding she had 4 girls. One was going to be about 7 months pregnant for her wedding, one was going to be either 9 months or JUST have had a baby... and then myself (at the time was about 320lbs and a size like 26 in street clothes) and then her other friend who is my height and a size 0.
Probably a chiffon type fabric would work because its flowy.
This! My FSIL just had a baby and I know she's self-conscious about the way she looks, which I don't think is bad at all!! That's the fabric I'm looking at though, we wore it at her wedding and it was super comfortable.

One of my BMs was 9 months pregnant at my wedding (she delivered a week later). Her Bill Levkoff dress looked awesome. He has 2. She wore the 1st one: http://www.billlevkoff.com/bridesmaid-dresses/silhouette-maternity/

Thank you! Was she able to comfortably wear a strapless bra with that dress? Or did she have wider straps sewn on? If I go with a maternity dress, but she doesn't end up getting pregnant, do you think it would look weird? She is about a size 18 street clothes right now.
