Dress Ordering Question

When ordering your dress or BM dresses has anyone given a wrong earlier wedding date? i am thinking of doing this in case there are alteration problems, I wont be stressed out a few days before the wedding wondering if it will be done in time. I have heard a few brides and BM's having alterations up to the day before their wedding and i dont want that craziness.
What do you think?

I plan on ordering mine with enough time before the wedding that even if there is a problem, it will be early enough to fix. I'm hoping to order my dresses in December/January.

i gave a fake date for my dress and the bm dresses...you can never be too careful!

my dress will be in by august or september of this year...so i should have plenty of time, i put my real date

I gave my real date too... figure they'll have 6 months to get it right at least!
