Dress prices

Would you guys mind sharing how much you paid for your wedding dresses, or what you saw the average price to be... and store recommendations in suffolk county. I am trying to put together a budget and would appreciate it!

Thanks so much

It varies greatly. Many places will ask you your budget when you go in and then show you stuff in that range. I tried on dresses ranging from $500 to $2900. The one I got (pics in my community album) was about $1300 I think, plus alterations.

Good luck!

Re: Dress prices

I went to look at dresses with one of my friends at Priscilla of Boston and was mortified that the least expensive dress that I liked was $2,500. I've recently looked at Bay Shore Bridal Suite, and Sukran's in Westport, CT and all the dresses that I liked were in the $800-$1200 range. A lot of it depends on whether you want a designer and the material. My friend found an AMAZING dress at Sukran's for $1,500, and it was designed by the owner.

3K with alterations but that was 1200 cheaper than another place- I got mine at Burton's in Melville and no matter what your price range is they save you a lot of $

I got mine at Davids Bridal, I don't remember the exact dress price but all together with tax and my undergarments it was around $700.

$1350 w/o alterations. Try Bridal Suite of Centereach, I have had a great experience with them so far. Good luck!

$430 w/o alterations. Bridal World in Baldwin.

The range of wedding dresses goes from $99 (david's bridal sale) to $5000 and up. I think it's up to you to know your budget. Some store will carry expensives dresses and other will carry less expensive dresses. In any way, you will need to inform the store what your price range is and you can see what they show you.

I think you can find a lot of dresses in the $600-$1500 range.

Re: Dress prices

I paid $347 for mine and it's just as elaborate and quailty is just as good as any dress out there... it would have been $650 if i got it at RK Bridal.

I tried on about 30 dresses w/o looking at prices and narrowed it down to the ones that flatter me, then it just so happens the one I fell for is offered at 347 at netbride.com!

Dresses range greatly in price, but it's absolutely possible to get many beautiful styles under $1000.

Shop at RK Bridal for the style you want, forget the more expensive places like Kleinfeld or Bridal Reflections 'cus the quality is not better for the high price you'll be paying there. Then get the style # and use the websites like netbride.com or bridesave.com to compare prices. Bridesave has a great fe ature that allows you to narrow down by type of dress (sleeve length, bodice, etc.). Good luck!

Re: Dress prices

I think the materials can make a BIG difference in price. They can use real silk or a blend that looks just as nice. They can use a very expensive imported lace, or a cheaper version that looks just as nice. It can be all hand embroidered or done by a machine. Good beads vs. cheap beads, designer vs. copy... you get the idea... It depends on what you want. I paid a lot for my dress because it was important to me, and I built my budget around it.
