Hi girls! Its a slow night here. Let me ask you: I was naive in the ways of designer dresses prior to coming on here. Is it super important to have a specific label? I had honestly never even heard of kenneth poole until last week.

Re: Dress Q for late nite ladies
I found a beautiful dress complete opposite of what I wanted. I never went in looking for any designer just looked and looked.
I think it depends on the person. Some might love a certain designer and get a dress from them. I think you should focus on the style, try every single type, even if you think it's not for you. Cause you never know. Go to as many bridal salons as you can, trunk shows, sales, etc. Then, go from there and you'll know the one. On your wedding day as long as you feel beautiful in it, that's what counts.

Honestly, I'd never even heard of one wedding dress maker with the exception of Vera Wang, who everyone on earth has heard of. I'm glad my dress is by someone important, but I had no idea! Just liked it.

I guess I'm just confused b/c, for instance, I can totally understand carrying a Coach bag b/c ppl can tell its a coach, but will ppl be able to look at my gown and say 'oh thats a so and so?'
PS my gown isnt designer
nah i dont think thats important or that people will know (in my opinion) its just a matter ot ur style and who carrys that style
God, I've heard so much about Kenneth Poole in the last two weeks I was beginning to feel like white trash in my little maggie sottero!
I was going to go look at kenneth pool but I dont think you can get one for under 5,000. Kind of just a little over my budget I like demetrios and Maggie dresses also.

Maybe if I had unlimited cash or if my parents were paying, but I can't convince myself to pay that much. I splurged on the band instead.

i had NO idea about any designers until i got engaged - i dont think it matters at all as long as it looks beautiful and you are happy with the quality.
my mom is a bit of a fabric snob LOL so she was worried with some of the less expensive dresses I was picking out - but i ended up with a GORGEOUS dress that was under $2K and its a Jasmine 'Couture' LOL i love that its 'couture' bc it totally ISN'T! ha ha love it

I really don't think it matters about labels of your gown, so long as you feel like a bride in your gown!
I happened to splurge on my gown, but I also wanted to splurge on the gown and kinda skimp on my flowers, because I'm not really a flower kinda girl lol.. I really think its up to you, and I must say your gown is gorgeous!

Re: Dress Q for late nite ladies
i totally agree that its not important who makes the dress.. one of my girlfriends got her dress at davids.. looked amazing and it was only a few hundred!!! It's all about the style..and what you like.. But maggie dresses are AWESOME! And very popular. I want one myself actually.. i love her and demetrios! You'll look amazing i'm sure and everyone wont care who made the dress!!

To me, no, it wasn't important to have a specific designer for status purposes. I found that I tended to like certain designers more than other for their overall looks, though. In the book 'Bridal Bargains,' authors Denise and Alan Fields actually rank manufacturers according to factors like quality, service (do the dresses arrive on time?), and design.

I agree with many of the ladies. I had and still have NO clue about wedding designer dresses. I'm just looking for a great style and quality from a reputable bridal shop!
