Re: dress question

I am getting married April 29, 2007 and as much as I am DYING to go dress shopping, I am waiting until about May/June to start looking.. If you go now, you will miss out on Fall 2006 dresses and Spring 2007 dresses..

Unless you go to trunk shows, a lot of Spring 07 dresses don't come into bridal stores until like December/January and getting married in April, that's not much time for a dress to come in (many take 4-6 months at least).

I just bought my dress, I'm also a Spring 2007 bride and I adore it. I don't see myself changing it and I think starting early (looking at least) is a good idea because some girls try on 20 dresses before like one.
I'm getting my dress in early June and I ordered it this week. Then it needs time for alterations. Many people recomment shopping about 9 months to a year before the wedding.

Just because I'm looking now, doesn't mean I have to buy anything soon!!! I'm really picky and I want to see as many as I can before I decide!

I'm also getting married in October 2007, and I'm going to start dress shopping soon. Considering how long it can take to order your dress, I definitely wouldn't start any later than a year in advance.

I know it's a bit early, but it seems like so many other things stem off of your dress - the bridesmaids dresses, and then the flowers often reflect the bms dresses, and the guys tuxes, and the whole color scheme and style of the wedding....

Besides, I've found a dress online that I've fallen in love with and I want to go try it. And if something gets screwed up with my dress I'd rather it happen a year before the wedding than a month or two before.

That's the beauty of long-term wedding planning - you can do things way in advance and relieve the pressure of feeling like 'oh crap, I have to do this now, I'm running out of time....'
