I am getting married August of 2007. I am not sure when I should start looking for my dress and my bridesmaid dresses. Is it true that if you look to early the dress can be discontinued?
I am getting married 4/14/07 and I plan to start looking the end of Sept. begining of Oct. That will be at least 6 months prior. Some girls go a year prior in case something is wrong with the dress and then they have to order a new one. you never know when mishaps will occur! Good Luck!

Bridesmaids dresses you can order about 3-4 months before. I ordered my dress in April for my May wedding.

I'm getting married in august of 07 too I actually bought my dress already. They said it could take up to 8 months to come in. I know it's a little early but I wanted to make sure that if for some reason something happend with the dress that I'd have time to fix it. I'd go shopping now, it's fun

I bought my dress about a month ago for a June 2007 wedding. I was told that it would take eight months to come in. I think now would be good time to go shopping. Bridesmaids dresses, I was told is about six months before.

I'm getting married in Nov 07, and will hopefully have my dress by this fall- just in case anything happens, I want to have pleanty of time!

Getting married in April 07 and bought mine and my BM's dresses aleady, about a year in advance. My dress takes 10 months and my girls 6 months to come in.

i'm getting married 7/7/07 and i just ordered my dress. It's a Maggie Sottero and i was told that it would take up to 8 months. I think i's never to look for a dress. It took me 1 month for me to finally found the one!!!

If you are not ready to buy it then I would suggest waiting a bit before you begin looking. Dresses do get discontinued and styles change, so you could end up driving yourself crazy looking for a gown that is no longer available. I'm getting married June of 2007 and I ordered my gown a month ago. It will be in 6 months early but I loved the dress.

It happened to me- I ordered my sisters MOH dress early because we happen to have credit from davids bridal and the dress was available. So one week I went back for something - cant remember what- but they told me the BM dress was going to be discontinued so I had to call all my BMs -thank god theres only 3 of them and tell them to rush to davids so they can purchase the dress! And the bad thing is that Davids doesnt give you warning ahead of time- they just discontinue it and thats it! Thank goodness all my BM's were cooperative and went and got the dress within those 3 days! So if you order BM dresses just make sure you order them all at once so you can avoid this situatuion from happening!!

i hear as long as you put a deposit and order the dress, it should be fine. I would say look now and order by july.

KIM (AKA GREAT GRAND) - I got my Eve of Milady Dress in November 2004 for my July 2006 ....I LOVE MY DRESS! It is never too early.
