hi ladies quick question. is it cheaper and better to buy a dress at a trunk show and what goes on at these places

Trunk shows are where designers show their new lines. They usually give you some sort of discount if you buy then.

Like Jess said - they're where designers showcase their new stuff. The benefits are you can possibly meet & talk to the designer first hand to see what may look best on you - but the discounts are typically smallish.

If you want major major discounts on a wedding gown, i'd say you head out to a sample sale.
if you are set on a particular designer dress and MUST have it, i'd rec. that you head over to the designer's trunk show and take advantage of the slight discount at least!
also! - just FYI...i've seen Amsale wedding gowns at certain Nordstrom Rack locations.
