I bought a Dress at a sample sale and it's a size 8. When I looked at the designer's size chart it says I should be around a 2-4. Do you think the dress can be altered that much? Does anyone have any good experiences with a seamstress that does not work at a salon or that alters dresses that were not bought at the salon they work for? Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!

Re: dress question
well have you tried it on? how does it fit...its alot easier to take in a dress than letting it out but see what a seamstress can do for you

Re: dress question
I tried it on in the store and it was pretty big, not swimming on me but big.. Right now it's in storage and I am just a little nervous about it, my wedding isn't until next September so I think it might be a little to early to get it altered... Part of me wants to though, for a piece of mind!

Yeah wait until its closer to the wedding, bc otherwise youll probably have to get it altered again...if you gain and or lose weight by then then the dress wont fit right.
If you need it taken in then dont worry, most girls have to get alterations done to their dresses ahead of time, i wouldnt worry about it now
