So I saw the commercial for the david's bridal sale and I had previously looked online and saw some dresses that I liked. I want to go and check them out since they are having the sale. The thing is I definately want to lose weight before the wedding. I hope to lose 40-50lbs. So my question is should I wait to look at dresses. If I go and find the dress I want I don't know if it would be pointless to order it seeing as how I hope to lose weight. I know some of you already ordered your dresses so I'm hoping to get some tips on if I should go or not.

I think i would wait, you might find that after you reach your goal weight you like a different style dress that you didn't consider before. but thats just my opinion.

i think they run those sales like once a season.....why dont you go and have fun trying on, and tell the salesgirl your plans and see what she recommends.....they know how often they do their sales.....that way you can still hold off until you know how your doing dress size wise, and you can still hopefully catch a sale!

I plan on losing weight too before the wedding and its always fun to see how the dresses look. If you do find a great dress, they can always alter up to 5 sizes before the dress loses the intent.

I would go in and take a look. See what you like and what your style is. They can always alter your dress.

if you want to lose, then wait. they have that sale every january/february. so in 09 they will have it again

I would go and try dresses on. Inform them of your plans. They should be able to guide u

That is like a permanent sale, I see the commercials alllll the time. It can't hurt to go and try stuff on just for the fun of it, but I would wait to buy one only because a friend of mine bought her dress right away and then lost tons of weight. They ended up having to basically rebuild the dress, it was a nightmare!

08er crashing, I would definitely suggest waiting. I rushed into buying a dress before I lost some weight and it was a big mistake. I got the call about 2 weeks ago that my dress came. I went and tried it on and hated it. I had chosen a style that was flattering on me when I was heavier but looked horrible on me after I lost the weight. So needless to say I ended buying a second dress. That definitely wasn't in the budget...lol but I am totally happy with my new dress!! HTH
