dress question...

dress question...

Do all dress shops require an appointment? I want to take a look at dresses without feeling pressured.

Does David's Bridal accept walk-ins? Does anywhere?

Thanks

Lauren

Re: dress question...

Some places prefer an appointment, others don't. I am not sure about David's Bridal.

I would suggest you call the place you are interested in going to and see if you need an appointment.

I went to Helen's in Wedding World in Commack and had a wonderful experience with Liz. She was totally awesome.

Re: dress question...

RK Bridal doesn't require an appointment. Also some places are flexible, like if you call a day or two before they can fit you in-- but thats not stores like Kleinfelds, etc.

i think a lot of places prefer an appt so they can make sure they have someone available to help you.

Re: dress question...

david's does not require an appt, neither does the wedding center in commack or wedding plaza in floral park- those were the ones i have been to.

the others i looked into required appts:
bridal couture in manhasset
helen's bridal in commack

also, kleinfeld in manhattan- i really recommend them... it was an amazing experience- i got my dress there AND met the designer!!!

Most places will let you look around but they prefer for you to make an appointment. But just call and ask.

youre better off making an appointment so that youll def have a consultant helping you out with trying on dresses

Re: dress question...

I had to make an appt for the Bridal Suite in Centereach. It was a great experience though....Tina was amazing! She was patient, honest and understanding. I liked her so much I bought the Bridesmaid dresses and the flower girl dress there.

I got mine at Bridal Elegance. They do not require any appointment and the women (Phylis) does not pressure you. She is very honest as well. If it doesn't look right she will say it and offer suggestions. She was great! Oh and the price was about 200 dollars cheaper then the brial suite.

I went to Davids Bridal in Lake Grove a few months ago with a friend and they told us for the bride's gown we needed an appointment. (supposedly they only have two dressing rooms for the brides and thats why you can't just walk in.

Re: dress question...

If you can get into the city, I'd highly recommend RK Bridal on W 39th Street between 8th and 9th Aves (walking distance from Penn Station). They don't accept appointments for your first visit. You want to go when they open (preferably a weekday). You sign your name up on the wall and then pick out your dresses and when it is your turn, an attendant can help you get in and out of your dresses. Best thing is to look at their website and bring pics of those dresses you want and style numbers. Good luck.

Re: dress question...

I second that recommendation. RK bridal is probably your best bet. Not only do you not need an appointment, but it is a great place to give you ideas on exactly what you're looking for, even if you don't buy it there. There are so many dresses to choose from. I would also say to go on a weekday. I went on a Saturday, and the wait was pretty long for my name to be called.

I went to the David's Bridal in Westbury w/o an appt. and it was fine. It prob. also depends on how busy they are!
