Re: dress question
maybe a year b4? i think it can take anywheres from 6 to 10 months. you could always try to rush order things too.. but just a roundabout figure for you. you have plenty of time. I am looking for my dress now and i am getting married Nov of 09. I hope to purchase it within weeks.. or TOMORROW if all goes well. Just to give you an idea of the time frame.

Re: dress question
I would give yourself atleast a year. My dress took 6 months to come in. You want to give yourself atleast a few months to look and order.

Re: dress question
I think I'm the exception when it comes to making a decesion....I picked my dress in less than 2 hours. But it takes 6-9 months to come in usually.

Re: dress question
i looked for and found mine about 9.5 months before...and it's not coming in till next month. about 5+ months in total for the wait (and that assuming that when they say mid-feb, they mean it :o) ... good luck and have fun...it was my favorite part !!

Re: dress question
You can start looking at any time you want, but I suggest waiting until about 9-12 months before to actually buy it. Styles change and sometimes your weight can change if you're on a diet.

Re: dress question
I ordered mine 6 months in advance. It was fine -- I wanted to wait until the last minute for fittings because I lost weight up until the wedding day. It depends on the designer, most mid-range designers should be fine with 6 months. Some of the higher end designers (Kenneth Pool, Amsale) may take longer. Mine was a Maggie Sottero. Casablanca had the same time frame as well.

Re: dress question
I ordered mine 15 months in advance...oops.
But I wouldn't have done it any other way...take advantage of your long engagement to get things done early. Soon it will start flying, and the last thing you'll want to do is agonize over dresses.
