Dress Question - Edited with Ques for Past Brides

My dress came in last week so I went to view it and try it on today...
I still love it and it fits like a glove! However, it is definitely poofier than the sample that I had tried on...I guess with it being new, the crinoline is sort of stiff which is making the dress poofier.
I definitely like it less poofy on me, so my question is - does crinoline 'settle down' over time (my wedding is not for another 9 months) or should I think about taking it out? Has anyone ever done that before? Does it ruin the shape of the dress?
The sample also had crinoline, but I think bc it has been tried on so much, it became flatter.

TIA!

ETA - bc I am obsessing about this - was anyone's dress less poofy after it was steamed? I am wondering if steaming the crinoline will make it less poofy. Thanks!

ETA - And will they steam it before alterations, just so I can access whether that will do the trick? If I wait until they press it at the end, all the alterations will be done already and than what if it is still to poofy? Then its too late to take out the crinoline!

hey Becky.. I think you can def remove some of the cyronlyn (sp?) .. or replace it with something little softer..

Um, pics??

ETA-- did you ask the seamstress about it?

Ask the salon id they can steam the slip and if that will help it flatten out a little. My slip wasn't attached to my dress and pretty much stayed the same puffiness the whole day..
The dress itself however, was more flat after it was steamed and made it look less puffy. Good luck!

Thanks! Yep - I'm hoping that the steaming of the crinoline slip and the dress with make it less puffy!

I had to poof out my crinoline to get it really poofy. Maybe if you don't 'fluff' it out as much. You can also try to remove a layer of crinolin.

Don't worry about it.

I had a ballgown and by the end of the night it didn't look as poofy (I was kinda disappointed because in some photos it was as poofy as when the day started)

But if it still bothers you, as your seamstress if some of the crinoline can be taken out.

I had a bit of it taken out, just a small amount though so it was wasn't crazy poofy but still had poofy shape, if that even makes sense.

Steaming will def. make the crinoline lay better. Ask your steamstress if she can steam it before one of your fittings. if it's still too poofy, see if they can remove some of the crinoline.
