Dress question for married brides

Dress question for married brides

When you brought your dress home did you try it on to make sure everything was right and it still fit. I want to do this, but I dont want to mess it up before Sat. I am thinking of that bridezilla's episode where she gets dressed on her wedding day and some of the beading is loose on her gown, so she is on the phone with the bridal salon yelling at them on her wedding day.

I had every faith in Phyllis and actually I wanted to try it on at the salon, but I was warned that the dress would get a little wrinkly and would need to be pressed again.

So I didn't try it on.

I lost a bit more weight in the last 2 weeks, so one strap felt loose, but other than that, the dress looked and felt perfect!

I had complete trust in my seamstress, so I left the dress alone until the day of the wedding. I was so afraid of getting it wrinkled also..

I didn't try it on at home either. I didn't want to wrinkle it and have to worry about getting it back into the bag- I felt that when I had it on at the salon after they finished the alterations, I didn't notice anything that was majorly wrong, so it would be ok on my big day!

If your gut instinct is telling you to try it on, then I would do it!! We have to go with our instincts sometimes!

Well... I did try it on. I had alterations problems so I wanted to try it one more time.... AND I AM SO GLAD I DID. They still had not done (after several fitting!!!!) the shoulders. I went back 2 days before my wedding.

I am so glad I did. I would have been livid on my wedding day. It would have looked ridiculous.

I did not try it on when I picked it up because I had my last fitting a week before my wedding so the only thing the salon was doing was steaming it.

No, but that was because it basically fit perfectly on the last fitting. She just needed to add a few stays to the top.

I didn't. I tried it on about a week before in the salon for the final fitting and everything was fine.

I stuck my head under the plastic right in Lillettes (upstairs) and noticed that a bunch of beads were literally hanging by a thread. They told me that once I took the dress out I couldn't come back so I was glad I did that.

I marched back downstairs and told the seamstress who kept saying they were 'fine' and but sewed them back on anyway..I was REALLY upset.

I didn't even see my dress until the day of my wedding (maybe the night before). I stayed in the suite with my DH the night before the wedding, so my dress was in my parents room and they were the ones who picked it up from Macy's as well.

I think my mom checked the dress before she left Macy's and they told her to take the dress out of the garment bag and hang it so the train didn't get wrinkled and I didn't have any problems at all.

Hi, I didn't try my dress on because I was afraid to wrinkle it. Unfortunately, I had had like my fifth fitting the week before and when I went to get dressed on the day of, my zipper was broken so in hindsight, I would of tried it on. If you feel like it will make you less stressed, then try it on!

nope, did not try on the dress once i got home. it was all pressed and i did not want to wrinkle it.

plus if your dress has a lot of beadwoork, one or two loose beads is bound to happen.

I tried it on before I left to go home. It wasn't even a second thought for me.
