Dress question...need opinions!!

Ladies! Going for my 1st dress fitting tomorrow and I woke up in the middle of the night w/ this idea.... let me know what you think?

If you don't mind looking in my albums for pic of my dress.... it's obviously strapless. I originally didn't want strapless, but I fell in love with this dress and the way I looked and felt in it.

Now, the dress also comes with a chiffon shawl, which I don't anticipate wearing at all that day. My idea was to ask the seamstress to make the shawl into off the shoulder cap sleeves with snaps, just to give me options, and so I can take off easily if I don't like them. What do you think??

My brain keeps going back to the style of this dress below that I first saw....but I love my dress so much more because of the detail throughout.....

Since we have the same dress- i know exactly what you are talking about.

I originally wanted to make little straps on it and the Shop and dress maker told me absolutely not. She said it would ruin the style..

When you go there speak with them and they can give there opinion as well

I think it is such a beautiful dress btw!! But i think the cap sleeves would look pretty as well, if you really didnt want the strapless..

i was afraid to not have straps myself but i am ok w strapless after all my fittings

I LOVE your dress! And I think that's a great idea! I am not a shawl person and would likely drop it somewhere and never pick it up for the rest of the night I definitely love the romantic feel with the cap sleeves, it's very classic! I say, Go for it!

Your dress is beautiful! I think the cap sleeve would actually go well with that style if you want to add them. Discuss the options with your seamstress at your fitting.

I def will let you know! She may tell me the same thing yours did...she's pretty blunt this woman. I'm sure I'll love it strapless too. I'm just created more stress before it's needed. My sister is saying I won't like it.. lol, but I need to see the visual. Thanks everyone!!

I love your dress. Every pretty. Personally I think if you add the cap sleeves it may take away from the dress. I like the sleeves. It adds a sexy classy look. But not sure if your dress is the type of dress to add those sleeves if that makes sense. Due to the design in the front and the corset back. But thats just my opinion. I would definitely ask if they can do it just so you can try it. HTH. Good luck!
