I have a long time until my wedding and I went to Davids Bridal a few months ago to look at dresses and I bought one that I thought was the one. I didn't go to any other stores and I think I was so excited about dress shopping that I purchased the dress. My FMIL was a little pushy and told me I should go dress shopping right away. The dress is in my closet and I think it is pretty, but I was looking at the Maggie Sottero dresses and they are so much prettier than the one I bought. I am confused about what I should do. Should I go to some stores and try on different dresses even though I have one? I feel like no one gets their dress at Davids Bridal. Are they cheap dresses? Thanks

i had a long time too..but i began to look at dresses a month ago..i had 5 different appointments since then and i finalyl found my dress..if its ther ight dress u wont have regret and if you do visit it try it on ..or one of the places i went to would have let me put a 200$ transferable deposit down where they would order the dress in my size so i can try it on..if i didnt like it they would just use that deposit towards another dress.

If you aren't going to be taking a huge loss, maybe go look at the Maggie Sottero dresses. You might be able to sell your current dress at a discounted price!

Dress regret??
When you tried it on did you not feel like it was the one? I say try on the Maggie Sottero dress. It may not be what you want after all and you'll see that your DB Dress is beautiful in the end.

Also I think DB lets you exchange only, so maybe exchange it and then use the credit for BM dresses?

I agree with this. Until you try on the other dress the feelings your having may not go away.

Dress regret??
I had the worst case of dress regret. I definitely bought my dress too early in my shopping experience. I bought my first dress the weekend of Thanksgiving 2012. It was the first time I went dress shopping and I kept second guessing myself the entire time. I tried on a beautiful dress, and it fit me perfectly, and everyone was crying (I brought my mother, grandmother, best friend, and cousin), every customer just stopped to stare and tell me the dress was 'the one' so I figured it had to be, and bought it. Five minutes after we left the store I had an anxiety attack, but my family calmed me down and reminded me how great I felt in the dress.
Every night since I left the store I cried, I cried to my fiance every day how something was missing and I was starting to hate my dress. (Which is crazy, because the dress was beautiful, even looking at it now, I still think the dress is gorgeous, but it wasn't the right dress for my wedding)
I went to Bridal Reflections in the middle of January, just me and my mother, and fell in love. Everything was right about this dress, it was the exact look and style I wanted to look back on in 20 years and see myself wearing. I'm so in love and can't wait to put the dress on again. Anytime I start to question myself, I look at the picture of it and fall in love all over again. I'm still sad that I lost my deposit on the first dress but I couldn't go another year crying every night and regretting my decision. I'm SO happy I bought a new dress.
Go with your instincts, if you feel like there's a better dress out there for you, go look for it. Chances are, if your dress is the one, you won't find one better. Good luck!

Return your gown to Davids Bridal and use the credit towards BM dresses, FG dresses and I think they even do favors and invitations.

if you are even questioning that you want to look at other dresses then do it because you may really find 'the one' OR you will have regret later on even if you keep the dress you already have

Dress regret??
As someone who is nervous about this exact issue and just bought my dress this weekend...
1- STOP LOOKING!! Even if you love the look of a dress, you don't know that it will look amazing on you, so all you are doing is making yourself doubt your current dress.
2- Remember the moment you had in that first dress. Did you cry? Did anyone cry? Did anyone gasp? Did anyone clap? Even if there is another dress that is equally as beautiful and makes you look just as stunning, you can't take away the fact that that already happened with the first one!! You loved it, you looked great in it, and that's what everyone will say on your big day.
This is what I will be telling myself anyway, lol.

Try on the Maggie dresses. Keep in mind you may have to for go the money you spent already... but if you really feel like this... try on the dress!! Bridal Reflections in Massapequa is having a Maggie trunk show the weekend of march 8-10th. Make an appointment!

Re: Dress regret??
I am in the exact same situation. except it was my mom who pushed me to get the dress lol. with omg this is the only time we'll be together, blah blah blah I felt so guilty and agreed when I should have waited.
I've also now lost 30lbs with more to go but I'm def way thinner now. I feel like I should have def done that first.
I am going to try on more dresses including the one I got from david's bridal (it's at my mom's down south so I am going to carle place) I don't think davids lets you return but maybe if you try to exchange it for a bunch of bm dresses? funny I was looking at Maggie dresses an hour ago too along with eve of milady dresses (omg so gorgeous)
I would def go try on more dresses including the one you got. if you still feel the same then you know it's not the dress for you.
