Dress Search

I am new to the boards to I just wanted to say hello and thank you already because I have foudn SO much helpful information!

I am in the process of my quest for the perfect dress and was wondering if everyone had as much difficulty with this as I am having? I am nervous to make a deciison because I am afraid there may be 'something better out there.'

Did you all know immediately when you had found 'the one'? I feel like the most indecisive person in the world but I want to be a beautiful bride...

First off, Welcome!!!!

Secondly, what you are feeling is completely normal. I keep going back and forth between the dress I think I want and another one. The one recommendation I got that helped was to go to a few places alone...without the influence of family and friends. When you think you have found 'the one' or at least a few you really like, then bring them with you for opinions. In the end, we have to go with what we like and what we feel is the best look for us.

I swear I must have tried on 50 gowns and none of them made me cry or feel special. They were all beautiful but I wanted to feel like a bride.

Then, I went to trunk show and found one I really liked, but I didn't get it because I wanted to keep looking. The next day I had another appointment at another salon and I started trying on a few gowns but I realized as I was trying on that I wanted one that looked like the gown from the trunk show. So I went back to the trunk show and put the dress back on and fell in love! I did tear up a bit too and I never thought I would.

Your dream dress is out there!

Thanks! I have found a few that I like but still searching for my love....It makes me feel better to know its not just me :)

Congrats and Welcome

It took me a while to find my dress. I tried on sooo many dresses but kept comparing them to the second dress I tried on. That's how I knew it was the one for me.

I hate to be the only one but I found my dress my first time out. I was only going to look at what was out there. They brought me 3 dresses and I picked the 2nd one! My mom and sisters loved it just as much as I did so I bought it on the spot. Don't worry, you'll know the dress when you put it on...because you won't want to take it off!!!

Try not to stress, when you find your dress you will know. Trust me!

I have to say I found my dress the first time out. When I tried it on I just knew it was 'the one'.

Same here.. .I'm the most indecisive person in the world and I found my dress in 15 minutes! I knew it was the one, I started to cry as did everyone else! Everytime I go for a fitting I don't want to take it off, I can't wait to wear it next week!

I felt the exact same way...I went to a few salons and had my 'favorite' at each salon, but didn't get 'The One' feeling. The I went to another salon and fell in love with the first dress I tried on. After that, none of the other dresses I tried on that day compared. I went home and thought about the dress. I could not stop thinking about it!! I made an appt. 3 weeks later and this time brought the powers-that-be (Mom, sister, aunt and grandma). I tried on 'my dress' first and everyone loved it! I tried on a few more and again, not one compared. You will just know!! And once you make your decision, don't look back

If it makes you feel better, I did not put on my dress and feel like 'oh my god -it's the one!' After I went home, it grew on me and after a couple of days I decided it was the right dress.

I confess that while I'm very excited to start shopping for my dress, I'm very nervous too! My mom and I are going on Wed, and I feel like I'll never find what I really want, and I don't even know what that is. I'm very picky, and everytime I walk into a bridal store and look, I never even see anything I want to try on. But everyone tells me that I'll def. find something, and I'll know it as soon as it's on. The same thing happened w/ my e-dress, and I thought I'd never find that one either! Try not to stress, try to have fun and relax! There's a wide selection out there, and there's something for everyone!

When I went to buy my dress I was going to get a different one..but I decided to try on a dress that they didn't have at the last place I went to, when I put it on I knew it was the one....even people in the store were telling me how beautiful it was .....

You will know when it's 'the one' ..trust me
