Dress Shopping

Soooo this is it...my mother has finally attempted to scare the $hit out of me and drag me out dress shopping (she said that whats going to happen if my dress doesnt get here on time etc etc)...so I thought about and I agreed...but OMG Im dreading it! I know that I will not like how I will look in them ...plus my favorite time of the month has arrived and I cant go to the gym and I feel like having a big fat brownie at this point...

Oh sorry...just venting.

Sylvia you'll be fine. You will definitely find something you love. I had the same fear remember?? Just have fun with it, don't stress to much and hey, have a brownie. We deserve life's simply pleasures, as long as it's not all the time!!!

Re: Dress Shopping

I had the EXACT same feelings as you! I was dreading the whole experience....but it really wasn't that bad at all! I can't say that I LOVED doing it, but I found dresses that actually looked pretty good on me and ended up buying one. I had a really great sales person who was very patient with me. She actually helped me find the dress that fit me best. I insisted on trying on dresses with sleeves, and none of them looked good on me. I was sure that I would not get a strapless - and guess what looked the best on me and what I ended up getting - a strapless!

Go with an open mind...if you can, go when it's not busy (during the week) so the sales people can really help you find the perfect dress for you.

Don't stress about dress shopping. It can be fun, if you let it. You may surprise yourself and LOVE how you look in the dresses, for three reasons: 1. The women at the store(s) are trained to find dresses to flatter you and can find something to show off the curves you love and hide the ones you don't 2. Shopping for wedding dresses means you are the special one that everyone dotes on, which makes almost every girl feel great 3. I don't know you, so I don't know what you look like, but chances are you look WAY better than you give yourself credit for. Go, have fun, if only to indulge your mother, and keep an open mind - after all, you'll have to get a dress at some point! Oh, and have that brownie! (No better time to indulge in chocolate than that time of the month!)

I couldn't have said this better!

I was DREADING gown shopping! I am plus size so I assumed every sample out there was a size 6. Well, turns out I had more than my share of gorgeous dresses to choose from. It was so much fun, I kinda wish I didn't find mine so fast!!
