I am going dress shopping this weekend. Are there any questions I should make sure to ask? Should I bring anything with me?

Most salons will have strapless bras there if you're going for the strapless look, but you may want to bring one just in case. And if you're modest, be ready for a bit of a shock- you'll definitely be in your undewear in front of strangers in the fitting room - plan accordingly!
If you have pictures of dresses from magazines that you like, bring them with you - the people in the store can see if they have the dresses or find ones that are similar to the style you like.

If you have pictures of the dress that you like you can go on the designer's website and get the style number. That will make it easier for you if you decide to shop around and compare prices.

bring an open mind, i was SO SURE that i knew what i wanted and i ended up with a totally different look. the first dress i picked up and tried on ended up being 'the one'....but i still tortured myself with several other salon visits.
Also, find a dress you love and order it from Burtons in Melville. I got my dress for HALF of what the salons were asking for it. My sister had the same experience. They are no-frills but they can get you what you want for less!

Definitely go with an open mind but you can also bring some pics if there are dresses that you've seen in magazines that you'd like to try on. Have fun!

I totally agree! I had the same experience - be open to trying everything on! And most of all... HAVE FUN
