Re: Dress Shopping
i went twice already months ago and i am going this next month to buy my dress - its never too early!
okay here is my advice: bring a camera in case they let you take pictures, bring some pictures of gowns you like - for some reason these places dont like to show you gowns! - dont let them make you feel like you have to buy a dress NOW or it will disappear that is usually garbage! - if you have a strapless bra wear it! otherwise you have to wear the store one ( EW, i just pulled my straps down on my bra) wear full underwear so you dont moon the lady. . .bring deodorant bc it rubs off on the dresses lol
i see you are going to the city but i have to rave about LIllette's in Baldwin - the only place i had FUN trying on dresses!
ETA: GOOD LUCK!

Re: Dress Shopping
I can't wait to start dress shoping.
I want to start next year, I'm tired of people telling me that it's too early to do anything

Re: Dress Shopping
I went dress shopping yesterday. . .and I always imagined it being a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, it wasn't=( The dress I loved in the magazine. . .didn't look like the one in person!!! (yuk!) and it is difficult to get the look when the dress is 10 sizes too big! Do they have smaller dress sizes to try on? I went to Macy's . . .the ppl there weren't too nice. . .so hopefully my next experience will be better=)

Re: Dress Shopping
I haven't been to a place yet where they were in the room while I was undressing. Maybe it's because I always brought a friend for assistance. I'm sure they're just as happy not to have to see me in my underwear as I am not to let them
I went to Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point(?). They were very sweet there. My friend who's getting married also went with me and they were very excited to dress up two brides.

don't feel bad they had to do the same thing for me. Everyone says those dresses are too big. I say they're not big enough for an 'average' sized girl!

Re: Dress Shopping
I know that davids doesnt have the best reputation but i went there as a joke with my friends while we were at the mall and i ended up with my dress!! thats how nice they were!!! i couldnt believe it!! i had been in a wedding where we used daivds and they were horrible but since they moved to the source mall they are great!!! and they have dresses in all sizes so you can get the true look. you dont have to buy the one you try on either.

Re: Dress Shopping
Really? I have only heard terrible things about Davids. Thanks for that update. I will so try them when I start my looking.
For anyone coming to the city. I hear that RK bridal is the place to go. It is like a warehouse (So I hear) but tons and tons of dresses to pick from. I also heard that there is not appointment needed.
Do you need to make an appointment at davids?

Re: Dress Shopping
So many people have laughed at me saying that I am going too soon...but some of the salons that I have been calling have told me that depending on the designer of the dress....it could take more than a year to order.....so whan someone laughs at you ladies, don't listen ,,,,,,just try on....and as many as you want
