so i am resuming my dress shopping tomorrow.. i really wanted to lose more weight but the summer party season hasn't helped
i guess when nothing fits that will motivate me more.
so my question is do i have to get my alterations at the place i buy my dress? also can anybody recommend a good seamstress?
I am also considering not getting a veil. what are other altrenatives??? if anybody has pics to share please do so..
this is the one thing i kind of dreaded.. i know most brides look forward to it....but i am very undecisive.
thanks !!

Re: dress shopping
don't dread dress shopping, it is soo much fun. when else do you get to try on dresses that cost thousands of dollars. it's like playing dress up. anyway, you don't have to get alterations at the place you order your dress. if you find a good seamstress you can take it to them. you kind of have to know what to expect on prices for alterations though. sometimes it may be worth it to just stick with the salon you bought the dress if they end up being the cheaper alternative. if you're good at it, you can even negotiate down the total price of the dress and alterations to save some money.
as for the veil, i too did not want a veil at first. but it just didn't look right. it kinda depends on the dress. somehow, your bridal ensemble doesn't look complete without that veil. but other people have done just a tiara or headpiece. do what you like.
