do you know of any dress stores where you can try on dresses with out an appt on LI?
For either wedding or BM you don't need an appt at David's Bridal, and I don't THINK you do at Macy's Bridal at Smithhaven.
i'm not sure, but i was going to suggest, if there's someplace you want to go for bridal gown shopping, just call them ahead of time and find out if there are any open slots. weekends may be a little busier than usual though, but i've called maybe an hour before going to the salon and made a last minute appointment. as far as BM shopping, you don't usually need to make an appointment.

YOu can definitely try Macys at Smithhaven and David's in Lake Grove. Also, if you try Priscilla of Boston they might have an open slot tomorrow (I did this last weekend).
Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point!!!! i love them love them love them!!!! I spent HOURS there...they were the only shop that didn't give me attitude about trying on 45 gowns at once lol. The staff just kept bringing me gowns upon gowns...their selection is HUGE, the seamstresses are renound and Little Marie is the absolute best!!!! they also beat prices if u find the same gown cheaper anywhere else...GO THERE!!!! lol...their right on the corner of Rocky Point Rd. & 25A
