My wedding is in November, but I still haven't gone gown shopping yet. I'm nervous!! Please tell me what you wear when you go; I haven't bought any bridal shoes/lingerie yet, so that's out. Also, should you be dressed up or what? I'm thinking of Bridal Reflections. My main concern is that I don't want anyone pawing all over me and giving me b**** oohs and ahhs. HELP!

Re: Dress Shopping
I wore sweatpants and a sweatshirt, if i remember correctly? They will provide you will a slip. You couldn't see through the slip, so I didn't feel uncomforable...and I am very shy and I do not have a great body. It's not that embarrassing. The other customers oohed and ahhhed, but the sales girls were honset with me, either yes or no. They were not trying to sell me something that didn't look good on me, she said we have hundreds of dresses, some will work, some won't. If I were to do it again, I would have worn pantyhose just to get the real effect, and bring a set of heels that you like because the dress will always be an inch or two longer without them... Good Luck!!!

Re: Dress Shopping
A good dress store will provide you with all you will need, just bring yourself! Go with your hair and make-up done, you will feel better in the dresses than if you go like you just rolled out of bed.

Re: Dress Shopping
The bridal salons will provide what you need, but I brought a backless strapless bra (I bought it for a friend's wedding and figured I could get more use out of it) and sandals with the approximate heel height of my wedding shoes. Definitely bring a scrunchy and barrettes so you can try out hair styles with the various gowns you try on. Most places I visited were pretty honest and helped me figure out which styles and colors looked great on me and which didn't flatter me at all. Though one place I visited had a very pushy owner. She saw me in this one dress and told me that I had to buy it right then and there because that's what I was going to walk down the aisle in. It looked like a nightgown my grandmother would wear, but this owner was trying every trick in the book to try to get me to buy this gown. Needless to say, I didn't go back to this salon! Good luck dress shopping!
