I'm going dress shopping for the first time tomorrow! Well, I went and tried on like three dresses at a store near my house that was closing, but I'm not counting that. I'm going to RK bridal. Any advice either about RK or about trying on dresses in general?
I'm off to buy Spanx and good strapless bra now...ha! I'll pick up some boy shorts along the way

Re: Dress Shopping
not specific to RK but in regards to dress shopping in general...u never know til you try it on so don't be afraid to try something on because it looks like something you wouldn't like on the hanger. once you try on a few and nail down the style of the kind of dresses you are looking for, don't let sales people be pushy to try to make you buy what they think you should buy. good luck!

Re: Dress Shopping
Rk Bridal has a HUGE selections of dresses. If you go ask for Janice she is a sweetheart. Have fun and keep us posted. Also, get there early; last try on is 1:30p.m.

Re: Dress Shopping
some dress shopping advice in general...
bring a good hair tie or a clip
bring some bottled water and a snack like a bar or something
ask for a crinoline if they dont offer it (if you want the dress to poof out)...if you are getting a dress like this, you will have a better idea of how it looks with the slip underneathe
ita with the advice that someone gave to try on different styles even if you didnt intend you try them on in the first place
if the consultant brings you a dress, try it on because hopefully and a lot of times they know these dresses really well and what looks good on certain shapes, etc.
about rk
you cant really take pics but if you are alone in the fitting room, try to snap them then if you want
its very overwhelming when you go because they have such a large selection and they start by telling you to pick up the dresses yourself and only to pick like 5-7 but once you go in, they might bring you more dresses and like i said above, a lot of time its good to trust the consultatant and just try it on.
oh parking is pretty bad, there is a parking lot about a block and a half away if you have to
they dont allow food or drink so if you do bring water and a snack, stick it in your bag
HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!

Re: Dress Shopping
Wishing you the best of luck tomorrow and happy dress shopping....I'm sure you will have a great time....definitely try on styles that you normally wouldn't see yourself in, because from what I heard from numerous people, it's usually the dress that you would least expect, to be thee one. Good luck!!
