So after months of avoiding dress shopping, I think I am ready. I lost 20 lbs and am feeling better about myself. I still have 10-15 more to go, but think I can start shopping.
Where do you girls suggest? I only want to go on Long Island right now -- just to get some ideas. I'll venture into the city when I have a better idea of what I want

Try Bridal reflections or The bridal Salon of Manhasset. ( I know people who got dresses at both)
Look online and take some pictures of dress styles you love! CONGRATS on losing the weight!!!!

My favorites so far are:
Lillette's in Baldwin Paradise Bridal in Patchogue and Village Bridal in Babylon
I went to a few others, but don't think I'd bother going back.

Depends on where you live and how much you want to travel....I started off close to my house and did Paradise Bridal, Fantasia Bridal, even Macys if you are interested in Demetrios, Bridal suite in centerreach, bridal suite in bayshore (which is where I ordered my gown), bridal reflections in massapequa (large selection), Babylon Village, there are a lot of vendors. Look online for which designer you like and then go to their website to see where they sell their gowns near your house.....GL

I'm thinking that might be my first stop. My sister had a great experience there. I really am turned off by bridal reflections for many reasons -- so while I know they have a big selection -- I really dont want to go there.
I'm calling Lillette's. And Laura, I will definitely ask for Gerri!
