Still can't believe I'm going to try on wedding gowns tomorrow... crazy!!!!
Going to Bridal Suite of Centerreach - anyone know if they give you a hard time about taking pics? I've heard some places don't let you at all?
Did anyone do their hair / makeup (not professional just 'nice') - or would I be the only dork there while everyone else looks normal? lol
And finally... what about shoes?? Do you bring a pair that are the height you are thinking of wearing, do they have some there to try, or do you just do socks / bare feet and worry about that later?
Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Dress Shopping
I didn't get too dolled up when I went shopping but I do recommend bring a hair tie so you can pull your hair back. They will usually give you a head piece and veil so you can get a better idea of what everything will look like. In regards to taking pictures, they will usually have signs posted if you are not allowed but bring a camera just in case and don't be afraid to ask. If they say no pictures just make sure to bring your cell phone in the dressing room to snap a quick pic between dresses while no one is looking. Good luck and have fun!!!!

Re: Dress Shopping
Things you definitely should bring wedding dress shopping:
* Hair Ties (If you want hair up ; etc.)
* Shoes (the same height you want to wear on the big day)
* DOJ ( or jewelry that looks as ornate as the kind you plan to wear- to see how the dress looks with the different pieces - earrings, necklace, etc.)
* Makeup ( You don't have to wear a lot, but you should wear some makeup - it finishes the 'look' of the dress)
* Water (keep hydrated)
* Any hair accessories you plan to wear (if you already have them)

Thanks - I was wondering about makeup! Didn't want to get any on the dresses, but I'm guessing you step into most...?
I was looking at your pics - is your FH a fireman? Mine used to work (and live) in Whitestone; I wonder if they know each other?

Yes, he is! You have FM!!!
I have been dress shopping a few times and after the second time, my mom asked me, 'Why aren't you wearing any make-up?' I had no response, to which she said, 'Well it would really finish the look'. I thought about it, and she is right. Why wouldn't I wear makeup, I mean, its my wedding dress, right? I should want to make the try-on be as close to 'the final look' as possible. Just throwing it out there. I thought her suggestion was good.
