Hi ladiesss... so this weekend I have my first dress appointment at Paradise Bridal. I am super excited!! I only invited my mom and my sil (who is my MOH). FH mentioned to me that I should invite his mom. I told him I didn't know because I know how excited my mom is to go with me and I thought it would be kind of weird. I feel kind of bad but I'd rather it just be my mom and SIL. Am I wrong for not inviting her??? Plus the past few times I looked at dresses in magazines with FH's mom, she HATES every dress that I like. I am petrified of what her opinion will be of the dress I pick- UGH what do i dooo?

Re: Dress Shopping
I'd say do what makes you feel the most comfortable the first time around. You haven't been through this experience yet and you haven't tried anything on so it's going to be a huge learning experience in seeing what looks good on you etc. My first time i just had my mom and sister (MOH) with me and it was great because I wasn't alone but i didn't have any strong opinions. Tell FH you want to get an idea of what you're looking for first and then you will bring FMIL to another appointment and she can help 'narrow it down' even if you've already picked by that point then she can still feel involved.

I think you are right....go with your mom! I would say if FMIL is really interested, bring her when you find the dress you want! So she can feel included

I know this is gonna happen to me to most likely and I want to involve her as much as I can because she has 2 boys and LOVES this girl stuff, I'm not gonna take her to the first, maybe another one, if not definitely a fitting. In your case I would take her to a fitting once you choose the dress.

I think you're right... I'm not bringing FMIL with me.. but if its important that she feel included I agree with Kerri, maybe bring her when you find 'the one'

I'm lucky I don't have to deal with a mother in law period! (FH's mom is not in the picture) but I agree with the other girls, if you feel FMIL will stress your dress shopping experience and you still want her to be a part of that process. I would say invite her when you have found the dress!! not b/f.
