Dress shopping

Dress shopping

So I went to Davids Bridal yesterday and tried on some dresses. I feel in love with one dress. Of course they tell me that I should order it ASAP in case its discontinued. This was the 1st time I tried dresses on. Does anyone have any other suggestions on where I can go for a plus size bridal gown. I have a appointment to go back to Davids next month but I feel like I need to try on more dresses before I make a decision. Maybe I'm dress shopping too early they said the dress can be in in about 6 weeks.
HELP!!!!

Re: Dress shopping

You are not shopping to early. The rule of thumb is that you should order everybody's gown by 6 months before, but since most girls pick their dress first, its fine if you order now.

There is a misconception that salons don't have plus sizes, but for the most part this isn't the case anymore. The only that sucks is that David's uses street sizes, most other designers use 'bridal sizing' which is two off from regular gowns (if you normally wear a 14 in street clothes, you get an 18 in bridal).

Don't let anyone pressure you into buying a gown. Take your time and find one you are 100% sure about.

Good luck!

Re: Dress shopping

I got my gown at Helens in commack and I'm plus sized. They had a decent selection there. I also found a lot of plus sized dresses at the wedding center at commack, and RK bridal in NYC

good luck!!
