dress shopping for first time!

As many of you know..I went dress shopping this weekend for the first time!
I went to Paradise Bridals yesterday morning with my mom, cousin, roommate, fmil and fsil. I narrowed down styles by deciding what i did not want and what didnt look good on me...I found a veil that I FELL in LOVE WITH! I also found a bm dress that i liked a lot.
This morning I decided on the spot to go to commack wedding center with my mom dad brother and roommate. I found a dress that I LOVE.. I found two bridesmaide dresses both which look GREAT! PLUS they had the veil i fell in love with!

Has anyone had an experience or know anytone that has an experience with the wedding center of commack or mon cheri dresses?

I LOVE the dress..i am going to one more place to make sure my mind is made up! i never expected to get it so early..and i guess im just a bit nervous about getting one after only two times!

I'm glad you had a good time! I bought my dress after the 1st time shopping and only 1 store.. when its the dress, its the dress! lol

I dont know much about the wedding center... but if you had a good experience there, I wouldnt worry. Keep in mind everyone has different experiences, I went to Village Bridal and LOVED them! they were amazing while I was there, and other girls went there and hated them.

i dont think there is any rule for buying the dress, once you've found it you found it!

I would be like you, even when I find the one I want to exhaust all options first...I mean, we only get to shop for a wedding dress once in our lives right??

re: the wedding center....I've heard of mixed reviews about it...see if any other store carries that designer/dress, or maybe order it from there and get it tailored elsewhere. HTH!

I have heard mixed reviews about the Commack Wedding Center. Maybe see if another store carries the line. But when it comes down to it if you had a good experience then that is all that matters. I would do a search on here and on google and see what the issues people were having with them. If it was just the service lack of service then that is not an issue for you since you had a good experience. If it was about the alterations or overall experience after ordering maybe talk to the person who complained about it and see the specific issues.

It seems like for brides the biggest complaint was customer service..but i thought their service was AMAZING.

it also seemed like alterations, they made it too big..but my woman said there would be a cap out at 200 so i dont get that

for bridesmaides it seems like its the alterations that they order it HUGE to charge u extra.

If the issues are with alterations and if you have a problem you can always go somewhere else for alterations.

I have heard about the ordering bigger sizes for the bridesmaid dresses. I would recommend that if they suggest to a BM to order a size that seems to big to say something. I know that my friend got a dress at a place in Manhasset and they said she should get a 14! She is a size 6 and there is no way that she is a 14! Clearly they wanted to make sure they got alteration money... Except whoops.... she lives in California so they will not be getting the money!
