Ok so I went dress shopping today, it was my second time. I went to Bridal World In Baldwin. As soon as I walked in I knew I was in for it... At the counter this was a man in sweatpants on the cell phone, didn't even acknowledge that we walked into the store.. So like three minutes later he was off the phone and asked if he could help us.. I told him I had an 1130 appt, and he looked at me like I had ten heads.. He asked me if I was there for a fitting and I told him we were just looking.. So he showed me around the store which to me looked like a dress warehouse.. I showed him my book of the dresses I was considering, he only had one dress I was looking for, which was fine because thats the main reason that I went there was to try on this one dress.. But he picked out another gown for me to try as well.. So he put me in a so called dressing room with the two dresses.. Ok first of all how was i to get the dresses on myself with no one helping me with the back, second there was no bras or corsets or anything to try on under the dress.. So I did my best to get the dress on, but I couldn't get the back zipper so I had to walk out of the dressing room with the back open and my undies showing,,, This guy was still walking around! I was so embarrassed.. The only sales girl that was there, who was presently helping two other girls at the time came over to me and told me the back of the dress was broke, the sample wasnt my size or anything..she didnt even bother to clip it for me or anything.. Then I asked her if I could see the dress with a veil, which it didnt look like she had any handy.. she gave me some crappy veil that didnt match at all with the dress and walked away.. I was pissed at that point I went into the dressing room and got dressed, I just wanted to leave.. I came out and I asked the sales lady where my folder that I had brought with me with the dresses I liked was.. She said she didnt see it.. I told her the man took it when he was showing me around.. So I started looking down the aisle for the man, and at the end of one of the aisle I see my folder with my dresses I liked thrown on the floor.. I was so heated , I walked to the front of the store and told them off.. And they were like, oh Im so sorry we didnt have what u were looking for.. Thats an understatement!! Im so bummed out.. This is the second dress shopping I went to and they both weren't good at all..

Re: Dress Shopping, NIGHTMARE!!!
I found myself getting MORE and MORE annoyed as I read your post so I can just imagine how pissed you must be. I'm sorry you had to have such a crappy time doing something you should have enjoyed. Don't let this experience taint your next dress shopping outing!

Re: Dress Shopping, NIGHTMARE!!!
I am VERY surprised. I bought my dress there and have nothing but good experience. Everything was delivered as promised and exactly when they told me it would come in.
I don't know who that man is but the owner is Heather.
I have been working with Bonnie. She is great!
Now.. I bought my dress for $429. I was OK not being served wine and dressing myself. I brought my MOH with me. I would never go dress shopping alone.
They have a very large selection of dresses and yes.. the dresses are all on the racks. It's not a front boutique at westburry common so you are also not paying for luxary displays (no offence to anyone buying dresses are more expensive bridal boutiques!).
Would I recommend this place? YES! Very nice quality dresses for a lot less.
I am sorry you had such a bad experience!

I'm so sorry to hear about this horrible dress shopping experience. May I suggest going to Lillette's in Baldwin? They are amazing! They know their dresses, veils, and quality customer service. Good luck!

I am still shocked about your experience. They were the most helpful to me.
I guess if I were you, I would not go back either.

Re: Dress Shopping, NIGHTMARE!!!
Please try other shops. The shop where I will be ordering mine is Angel Bridals in East Islip. The owners are wonderful and everything you were missing they have. It is worth a shot!

if i had bad service like that i wouldnt buy my dress there at all...Since they treated you like that prior to buying the dress....IMAGINE how they would treat you after you did....BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

Don't give up. I'm sorry you had two bad experiences with A$$#oles, but you'll find a shop that works well with you and the perfect dress. Keep trying. Sorry again.

Aww i'm so sorry you had such a bad experience. when i went there was no guy there and Bonnie helped me, I did have to get in the dress myself but she helped me zip it, it was way too big so she clipped the back for me. Mind you the clips did pop off because she obviously did not know how to clip it correctly but it was enough to help me get the idea of the dress.
