So I am going dress shopping for the first time next weekend. Does anyone have pointers on what to bring with me? ie.. undergarments I'm assuming a strapless bra and NO thong because they are usually there helping you into the dress, right? Anything else? I'm not too happy about people seeing me in my undies, but don't think there is any way around it.. lol

Re: Dress shopping question..
I wore almost like a girdle underwear thing to cover my stomach all the way to my chest so it wasnt like they were seeing me in my underwear. I also suggest to eat before you go. It is very tiring trying on those dresses.
Good luck and have fun!

Depends on where you go - anywhere I went to look for a dress, no one came in with me...ever!! Which was great because I was worried about that hahaha. Where are you going to look?
EDIT: Also, BRING WATER!!! I always get SOOOOOOOOO thirsty in bridal salons hahaha

Re: Dress shopping question..
yea, bring anything you might be wearing under your dress the day of your wedding. some salons have sample corsets you can try on with the dress to get the full effect of the dress but some don't so come prepared!

Re: Dress shopping question..
In addition to all those things mentioned, I would bring heels. something with the approximate height that you would want for the wedding just so you can gauge the length of the dresses. When I tried on dresses, I brought a strapless bra, heels. Also, I had one of the BM's bring a notebook and take notes on each dress, like my reaction to it, my mom's reaction to it, and so on. I then had everyone rate it from 1-10. Although a lot of places do not let you take pcs, I had my sis click pics with her cell phone. HAHA defnitely a team effort, but it was all very helpful!!

Def no thong!! Get used to the people seeing you in your underwear, you'll be hopping in and out of the dresses for a while. :)

Spanx? I was going to wear spanx and the strapless bra that like covers your stomach. Wore that for my cousins wedding since the back of that dress was low. IS that good to wear?

I wore spanx and a strapless bra. One place made me put on a full length slip also, they said I would have to buy one for the day of the wedding, but everyone I know didn't need it. I thought that was a little weird. But definately it you are trying to be a bit more modest while trying on dresses I would do the spanx and a strapless bra, its basically like being in a nude colored bathing suit.
