dress shopping reviews!

dress shopping reviews!

so i began dress shopping this week after reading all your helpful reviews i had to report back because i feel like i had some different experiences. i went to:

paradise bridal
bridal suite of centereach
estelles
village bridal
bridal reflections (massapequa)
david's bridal

i was a little worried about paradise bridal bc of some negative reviews but had the BEST experience there! i went back twice and worked with Donna and Cherise who are both managers. they were fantastic and very willing to negotiate. cannot say enough good things about them and would recommend them to everyone. just couldn't find 'the dress'

the consultant i worked with at village was a little snotty and not at all into the appt- she pulled like 3 dresses for me and that was it...the person i spoke to on the phone when making the appt was nice though. overall paradise had most of the same dresses and paradise had better prices.

centereach was alright...nice and helpful consultant...not the biggest selection but what they did have was nice. their alterations department doesn't seem to get the best reviews so that worried me.

estelles was disappointing. i went to try on the allure dresses and they only had a handful of samples. the consultant was nice but not very knowledgeable. since they don't take appointments, i just walked in and i don't think the consultant normally works in the bridal department.

david's pleasantly surprised me. love that i could actually try on dresses in my size. the consultant was sweet and helpful...not quite getting my vision but this was my 3rd appt in one day and i think i was just spent.

bridal reflections was a MAJOR disappointment. they got such great reviews so i thought this was going to be great! my consultant was WACKY...tearing up one minute and yelling the next. she was very rude to my mother. the seamstress came up to see if a dress could be altered the way i wanted it and her and the seamstress were arguing right in front of me...it was very uncomfortable. unfortunately they have the dress i love...so may have to suck it up- but would really hate to give them the business after the way they made my family and i feel. finding 'the one' was a miserable experience there.

I had a similar experience at village! I got my dress at lilettes in bellmore. Joan was amazing! I would definitely recommend them and Renate's in lindenhurst. Good luck!!!!

Just bc they had a sample of the dress doesn't mean you have to place your order with them. Now that you've decided that it's the one, you can place your order with another store.

This exactly! Check out Fantasia bridal in rocky point... If they can get it in for you, they will. Such a well run store with fabulous women. I really can't say enough about them!

Try B*urtons in Melville! I went to Village, BR in Mass, DR and Estelle's myself, but when I went to B*urton's, I found my dress there. The owner isn't going to fawn all over you - she'll tell it to you like it is, and she knows what she's talking about. After so many other appointments at other salons, she was a breath of fresh air for me.

(And... she can order almost ANY dress you want... call her and see if she can get that dress from BR for you!)

I got my dress at Fantasia bridal. They were great there! My dress was also $400 less there than at the store I originally went to, and I was able to get it in the color I wanted. I was told at the other store that it was no longer available.

THIS!!! Well I I didn't go to Village, DR or Estelle's, but I did go to BR in Massapequa before B*urton's. Carole, the owner and consultant is wonderful! I've written many reviews of the place on here. I'm not going to retype it all but do yourself a favor and call and make an appointment with her. I looked at the place and never thought I'd find my dream dress in a tiny little place like it is, but she's got a wonderful selection and she can order almost any dress, she did it for me no problem. You've had the experience, now get your dream dress! And you cannot beat their prices!!! A friend of mine was raving about Macy's Bridal Salon in Smithaven Mall, telling me I couldn't beat their prices so I went there and tried on the same dress (THE DRESS!) I had tried on at B*urton's a few weeks earlier. I was still in love. Ordered my dress from B*urton's for $700 cheaper. I told her 'I did!' GOod Luck!

Re: dress shopping reviews!

I had an amazing experience shopping for my dress at Paradise Bridal.

Unfortunately they never ordered my dress, and lied to me about it for about a month. Then they tried to give me an old dress (which my consultant agreed was a sample). I got my actual dress 2 weeks before the wedding date i listed. Be warned.

dress shopping reviews!

In the end I had to order from briddal reflections in massapequa and It was the last thing I wanted to do. I had brought my mil and daughter in w me and found the dress. I forgot to call back that night as my in laws were visiting from Wisconsin. The next morning after I had been in I walked into dunkin donuts w my mil and 8 year old and saw the manager Nicole who had helped me. My 8 year old went out of her way to say yellow and the manager never once looked in her direction. Instead she buried her head in her boyfriend arm. I was shocked. I mean the day before yo saw me in my underwear and the ne5 day you ignore not just me but my 8 year old?
The down fall for me was I had $500 on a previous dress so unless I wanted to lose that money I had to order there. I deal w Leslie she is amazing and I am thankful for her. She has gone above and beyond in helping me in many ways.
If they have a dress you like you might want tom call bur*tons bridal and see if carol can get it for you. She is an amazing resource!!

Hth a d good luck!

See if Bridal Reflections in Carle Place can order the dress for you - I worked with Lorraine there and she was wonderful

I had a bad experience with Lorraine. I showed her what I wanted and she didn't pull any dresses for me or lead me in the right direction. She told me that most girls don't want what I want (mermaid). After trying on one dress, she got pulled by another consultant came back and asked if I tried anymore on (uhmm no). Then after I tried the second dress on I told her what I liked and didn't like about the dress and asked if she could pull something for me (she said we don't do that here you came to the wrong place). My mom went out to look some more...Lorraine got pulled again and my mom saw her and told her again what I was looking for and wanted guidance. She gave my mom an attitude and said good luck finding what she wants. My mom told the manager and then she helped me and she did an amazing job. The next day I worked with Allie (who is young and very fashionable). I absolutely loved Allie. I think I will be purchasing my dress either with her or with Jodie at Massapequa location. My mom is paying and therefore she has final say..but she hasn;t met Allie yet and based on how we were treated the first day at Carle Place we are a little nervous!

Exactly this! I found my dress at Bridal Suites of Centereach but LOVED everyone at Fantasia Bridal so I ordered my dress there which they did not have. I also ordered my BM dresses there and I cannot rave about them enough. They have been more than amazing!!!

Re: dress shopping reviews!

I found my dress at Angel Bridals in East Islip on Main Street. It is a little bridal salon...but...the best bridal salon Ive been in. :) The women that work there are amazing and if you want personal attention...this is the place for you. If they carry your designer ...I would definitely go with them...You can find out how much they can get the dress for...and they will match the price if you found it somewhere cheaper on LI. My friend just recently found a demetrios gown at Macys bridal salon...They were pressuring her to purchase the gown on the spot saying they would give her 20 percent off if she ordered it that day. I didnt like that she was feeling pressured(even if she thought it was THE gown) I suggested that we contact the salon where i just recently bought my bridal gown and we did....They told her they would match the 20 percent off discount macy's was offering! She's going to Angel Bridals this weekend to check out what they have...if she cant top her dream gown...she is going to purchase it from them(no pressure). NOT TO MENTION...their seamstress is AMAZING.

Worth Checking out Angel Bridals LOVE THEM.
