dress shopping - *sigh*

dress shopping - *sigh*

SO don't want to do it.

I don't want to go to fittings or appointments. Is there a store where I can just go and try on dresses without salespeople breathing down my neck?

Where I can bring a friend and just have her zip/button/tie me up?

thanks girls!

I heard RK Bridal is like that!

Yup RK. You usually have to make an appt, for bridal gowns only, but if you can get there on a weekday, they're not busy and will def. take walk-ins. They give you a lady to work with but you are free to pick out your own dresses. That's what I love most about RK, I hate being 'attended to', but some people love it. I just want to be left alone for the most part The lady kind of helps you in the dress and then just stands back.

Have you picked out BM dresses yet? If not, see if you can get one of your girls to tag along, she can try on dresses also and this way you kill two birds w/one stone. (I hate that saying by the way)

I'm not sure if you're opposed to david's bridal or not but it's a great place to start and they do not harass you

NOT priscilla of boston - they stay in there with you the entire time. I didn't realize this so I wore a thong, and I had to hang around in a long line bra, thong and heels in front of the saleswoman! I felt like a hooker!

I went to bridal suite in bayshore and the most that the sales lady saw was my arms. They give you a slip, bra (new) and tell you to call them so they can help you with the dress. I think they were great.

I was so nervous going dress shopping trust me! But I decided to just go and made an appointment to go with my mother. The lady I worked with asks you what you like and a few other questions and then makes some suggestions and helps lace or zip you up. It was actually really fun. I have lots of pics in my album. I tried on a whole bunch and tried on the first one she brought to me and knew it was the one. I think it is a good idea to have someone from the store help you because she also helped me pick out my headpiece and it looks beautiful. They do this all the time so they will already have an idea of styles that will look good on your body.

ETA: I went to Bridal Suite in Centereach and worked with Laura. She would bring the dresses to the room, let me change and then lace the corset.

The wedding center has a large selection of maggie dresses, I know they have horrible reviews but they don't come in the fitting room with you either. It might be worth it just to see which dresses they have so you can try them on

And it's funny that all you girls say RK bridal isn't like that. When I was there it was the first time I was forced to be in the fitting room with the person helping me and I was being a little shy and she said something like 'you can't be shy you're going to have to get naked sooner or later' I actually felt a little dirty after.

lidia's they will just bring you dresses and give you space especially if you ask. Trust me on this one I walked in veil shopping this weekend and I just you can wait on other people while i do my own thing and they were def. cool with it which made me happy.

Appointments really are nice for them to get ready for you and give you time for when you need to ask questions and also kind to people who have made appointments and need help. This way everyone gets help.
