So my sister (MOH) lives in Florida and won't be in town again until Memorial day weekend so we are planning to take off that Friday and make a few appts. (I can't really imagine picking out my wedding dress without her, I'm very undecisive and she's very good at making things more clear for me)
That would be around the 11 month mark to start looking for dresses. That isn't too late to order your dress right?
What is the time frame you ordered (or plan to) your dress? When do you think the latest you can do it is?

Re: Dress shopping timing
Definately not too late to order your dress. I wasn't planning on shopping until after I hit my year mark but Im going this weekend since everyone is available.

I personally don't think that is too late... I will start looking at the 10 month mark.

Re: Dress shopping timing
I dont plan on going to June or July, which will be the 8,9 month mark. I need to loose weight before I even think about going dress shopping. Id love to wait longer but not sure either when the latest is. Although i do know each place and designer is different.

Re: Dress shopping timing
I know people that have gotten engaged and married 6 months later and still shopped around, so you're definitely good!

I'd suggest trying to order by around 8 months. It's certainly doable in less time than that, but I think some of the slower designers start charging rush fees.
A suggestion: I said the same thing about dress shopping with my sister (my MOH). But I found it really helpful to go dress shopping once before she was in town. I tried on all different types of dresses to find the ones that looked good... that way I didn't have to waste time on ones I obviously wasn't going to like when shopping with her.
Yes one of my bridesmaids suggested this as well. I think I might go to David's Bridal a week or two before to try on a bunch of styles and narrow down what I like.
Thanks everyone, you all made me feel much better about waiting a bit...I think I was worried 1. because I just want to go shopping already! and 2. EVERYONE asks if I've found a dress yet and I haven't even started looking! haha

Re: Dress shopping timing
I agree with Sara.... I went dress shopping a few times with some friends just to get an idea of what styles I liked and did not like. Also, by trying on dresses before we I went 'for real' I felt comfortable Saying Yes To The Dress because I really saw a lot of dresses!

Re: Dress shopping timing
Def not too late.. i would say anything before 6 months is good unless the designer is well known for taking longer. most bridal salons tell you it takes longer than it actually does.
