Re: Dress shopping!

I got nauseous after my first dress shopping trip. I hadn't eaten anything for over 24 hours though, so that probably had something to do with it--I was convinced that would help me drop 5 lbs in a day! It was a lot of fun though.

Here is something people don't tell you -- dress shopping is exhausting. Sounds stupid, but I still can't believe how tired I was afterwards. Unbelieveable!!!!!!!!

Re: Dress shopping!

Hey Nutty- From my experience- wear comfy and easy to get out of clothes.....nice undies cause for me the size 10 samples wouldnt close in the back and in order for my mom to see, i had to walk out in front of the entire store with parts of my backside and bra hanging out.....now that I think about it i should be more humiliated but i was having so much fun playing dress up.

Also, wear full makeup so you look to die for ...if you feel even a bit ugly, you wont like the dress.

Re: Dress shopping!

Thanks for all the advice!!

I am going to the Wedding Plaza in Baldwin cuz they are one of the only places that carry Eden Bridal- and there are a LOT of their gowns I really like. They also carry the other two designers I like a few dresses of, so I figured it was a good place to start!

I will definetly let you know how it goes-- I am nervous!! I tried on one dress when I picked up my bridesmaid gown for my friends wedding but it was more of a joke than anything... this is serious now!!!

Well, I went... it was frustrating at first cuz I am SOOOO picky... I definetly want sleeves and there is just very little to choose from. I also want simple- not a lot of lace, and either a-line or empire...

I tried on about 7 dresses and really only liked one. I think I might have liked another but it really didn't fit and it was hard to tell...

The girl even said that I am so picky it's a good thing I started looking early!

Here's a pic of the dress- I took one of me in it (my head is cut off) but its still in my camera. It's an Alfred Angelo.

I think that dress is BEAUTIFUL! I love the details all over like that!
I dont like the sheer arm, I think it takes away , draws the eye away from the dress? How did it look on?

I really do love it though!

I am not a big fan of beads but they kinda just glittered- they weren't really noticable. It looked nice on, the sleeves look better in person. I have a pic on my digital camera (only my head is cut off!) that I will try to post tomorrow... it looks better in person than on that model!!

We just realized one of the ones I picked out online is exactly the same but with long sleeves... Maybe if I decide on that dress for sure I'll just get the long sleeve one and half them cut down to 3/4... Whatever
