Dress Shopping--went Today!!

Mom and I are going dress shopping for the first time tomorrow morning I'm nervous

OHH>>DOnt be nervous!! Its so much fun!! Do you have ideas from magazines of what you want? Its such a fun time..its just overwhelming. We brought a penicl and paper to jot down lots of notes, because the dresses start to look the same. Once you narrow everything down..take good notes..it really helped me make a decision. We also took lots of eating breaks to clear my head. Dont be nervous..its FUN!!! Please let us know how ya do!! And good luck!!

OMG!!! I'm taking off work to go dress shopping with my mom too I have a dress in mind already and it's going to be the first one I try on. If I don't like it, then I'm going to get nervous because my wedding is in 8 months.

I have plenty of ideas of what I like, I am just afraid of all of that coming crashing down. I know that I look best in high waisted dresses (empire) because I have short legs and a long waist and I would like to appear taller. I like cap sleeves and scoop or square necklines or boatneck sleeveless. I am trying to be openminded. I will definitely report back after the expedition

I was nervous too the first time I went dress shopping, but it ended up being sooo much fun!!!! I ended up getting the first dress I tried on.

Just showered and am getting ready now. Want to leave a little early so we can walk around before the 11AM appt.

FH is so cute. He called me a half hour ago to wish me luck (and ask what color polo shirt he should wear with olive green pants )

I am getting excited!!

After the appt, I have a gyno appt. Not so excited, hehe

Definitely try on all styles...I chose sleaveless and I said I definitetly didn't want sleeveless. You just never know.
Try to wear a little bit of makeup and wear a strapless bra that day...so you don't have to borrow thiers, also bring a clip for your hair. Be open minded and good luck!!!

Definitely try on all sorts of styles, you'd be surprised because they don't fit anything like normal dresses do, and you may fall in love with something you wouldn't have otherwise tried.

Also - JUST A WARNING - Do NOT get upset about what size you need - dresses run super-small, and you will need about 2 sizes bigger than your normal size. Many a girl on here has been in tears b/c they didn't know and got depressed when they went shopping.

It was SO much fun!! I tried on a bunch of dresses and was actually right on the money about what looks good on me. And fortunately I have been in two bridal parties and already knew that I would need two sizes bigger. The 10 samples were a little snug, but the few 12's she had, zipped right up (both BM dresses I wore were 12's so I was okay with the idea that it was a bigger number )

I found a Christos, two Lazaro's, and a Jim Hjelm (the one LisaT wore) that I really liked. There are a few more Christos that I want to try but they didn't have them in Massapequa, so I will make another appt and they will have them sent from Carle Place.

I think this may be easier than I thought.

I dealt with a girl named Laura who was so nice and easy going. When I tried to explain why I didn't like a dress, she said 'don't worry, it's okay, you don't owe me an explanation if you don't like it. You have to wear it, not me'

Yay! I can't wait to go again!!!
