I second that. I got my BM dresses from them and my fmil got her dress there. The price of the mom dresses includes alterations and valentina has magical hands! The staff is amazing and always helpful! Def go there! :)) good luck!

You'll find the same dresses in Doris Fashions on 18th Ave and 68th Street that you'll find in Valentina's for less money

I don't know of any, but stay away from Lestan Fashion on Ralph Ave. They are horrible. One of my BM's dresses wasn't ready til the day before our wedding.

Re: Dress shops in Brooklyn...
you can try VIP EXCLUSIVE on 18th avenue...they made my moms dress for my sisters wedding last year and she loved it. So she and my FMIL are getting their dresses made for my wedding

Im sorry but I would NOT recommend that place at all. Maybe I went there on a bad day, but they were OVERLY crowded, no one paid attention to me and the store is a TOTAL mess!
What I loved about Valentina's is you get totally personalized service, the store is huge and put together so nicely that you can actually SEE everything. In Doris' everything is on top of each other and you cant see anything. Plus the sales woman was rude and pushy. I personally did not care for the store AT ALL and would NEVER recommend that place to anyone. It felt very much like they push you in and out.
Valentina's you get one on one service, in fact you get like 2-3 on 1 service. Very patient and honest salesgirls that dont just try to push dresses on you or make a sale. They let you know if something may not look right. I just really had a VERY wonderful and positive experience with them. =)

i have to agree about Doris Fashions. i had an appointment & went there last weekend. no one even cared that i was there. they didn't help me at all & to be honest i personally thought everything in the store smelt like cigarette smoke.

Count me in on this. Bought my BM dress from Doris for my friend's wedding. They messed up the order and 2 dresses were a diff shade. also...we were rushed and even when they were in the midst of pinning the dress they paused to greet and help someone else...HELLO... I was standing there and had to wait 10 min. and yet I was the one with the appt. This was a few yrs ago, but that was my exp. and the place just needs to be re-modeled. I wouldn't have noticed it if my friend didnt' send us in. Don't want to offend. they do have nice dresses, maybe less, not sure, but I would suggest getting alterations somewhere else. JMO.

Maybe I shouldn't bring FMIL (well-F-step-MIL) to Doris Fashions then. The whole wedding planning experience is new to my in-laws. Not only that-but they don't go out that much at all, so that is why I needed to find a place in BK. She was going to just order her dress online. She is such a beautiful woman I want her to get excited and see how pretty she will look when she tries everything on. If the place smells like cigs I don't think it wil go over well!! Sorry for the ramble. And thanks for everyones input again!!
