Hi everyone- so basically I bought a dress a few months ago with my mom. We bought it from a store that was going out of business and was planning on getting the alterations done by a seamstress that I know. I really love the dress but I found another dress that I LOVE. it's just more me and I really want to order it.
The problem is that I feel bad because I had gone shopping with my mom for it and I dont want to hurt her feelings. The dress was only $350 so I'm not really concerned about the money and I plan on paying for the new one. I want to order it soon since it's been on my mind and need to tell my mom. Has anyone else gone through something like this??? How do I bring it up to my mom w/o hurting her feelings??? TIA!!!!

I think she will understand, just take her with you when you go for the new one so she still feels like she was a part of it.

I wish I could. The problem with the first dress is that it's sooooo heavy and the train is so long. I didnt realize this until I started looking around for more dresses. I really like the weight of the second dress (since I'm getting married in the summer). Plus the first dress is so heavily beaded and the second dress is a little lighter on the beading. I just feel so bad about it!

Its your day and no matter what others say (including your Mom) you should have the dress you love. I tried to make my Mom happy which in the end made me crazy looking for a dress. She will love you in whatever you pick. I'm sure she wont be upset if you really love the new dress. Have her go with you to try it on... Maybe you could sell the 1st dress and give your mom the $$ back?

Yea I agree with you. I just know that I will regret not getting the dress that I love. I am definitely going to invite her to try on the dress when I go. Yea selling the 1st dress is a good idea!!

i would think ur mom would understand that although u did love the dress when u bought it and u love shoppiong with her this one u just know is the one..i think if u just talk to her she will understand but dont settle cause u will prob regret not wearing what u want..hth and good luck
