Dress situation- need advice!!

Hi everyone- I posted this on the 09 boards too. so basically I bought a dress a few months ago with my mom. We bought it from a store that was going out of business and was planning on getting the alterations done by a seamstress that I know. I really love the dress but I found another dress that I LOVE. it's just more me and I really want to order it.

The problem is that I feel bad because I had gone shopping with my mom for it and I dont want to hurt her feelings. The dress was only $350 so I'm not really concerned about the money and I plan on paying for the new one. I want to order it soon since it's been on my mind and need to tell my mom. Has anyone else gone through something like this??? How do I bring it up to my mom w/o hurting her feelings??? TIA!!!!

I am sure whatever you choose to do your mom will be happy. I mean, she bought the dress b/c YOU loved it, not her right? I am sure if you buy something that you love and that you will not regret wearing, then she wont have a problem with it.

I don't see this as being a problem.

My mom is super sensitive and I ended up getting a dress that she loved because I wanted the dress shopping to be a “bonding” experience for us. Needless to say, I bought a dress that she loved and that I wasn’t too crazy about, but I bought it to make her happy. I mean I like the dress, it’s pretty, but I’m not totally in love with it. I still regret buying it and I wish I had looked around more and picked something that was more me.
My only advice to you is to get what you want, what makes you happy and the one that you feel best about. Don’t end up like me regretting your choice. I get married in less than 2 weeks, and I haven’t seen my dress in 2 months! It’s been hanging in my moms closet b/c I’m just not excited about it.
