Dress Steaming the night before the wedding

Dress Steaming the night before the wedding

hey ladies,

I was wondering how all of you dealt with keeping your dresses steamed and non-wrinkly for the big day. Did your hotel have a steaming service? Did you bring your own? My dress right now is very wrinkled, and i know it'll become wrinkled in transport.

any ideas?

I read that if you let it hang for a few days all of the wrinkles will come out themselves, I think bc of gravity, HTH , GL

Don't steam it yourself. The dressmaker or shop should do it.

My dress was steamed and ironed by the shop before I picked it up.
I set up a garment rack in my living room with a white sheet over the floor. When I got home, I took the dress out of the bag, hung it on the rack and spread the train over the floor. I hung the veil over the dress.
I draped another white sheet over the whole thing because it was going to stay like this for 9 days.
The day of my wedding, I packed it back in the garment bag, laid it across the back of my car and drove to the salon for hair and makeup and then to the RH.

Might have been a wrinkle or two but nothing noticable.

You can hang the dress in a closet (make room), on a secure curtain rod or a shower rod.
