I'm getting married in October and I just picked up my dress...what is the best way to store my dress? I am anxious because I live in a basement apartment which can have moisture however I do have a dehumidifier in each room, and one in the closet where it would be stored. Is the best/only option to have them store it for me or is there hope for me? Lol. Any advice on how to store it for 5 months? (in/out of bag, hanging/laying..etc)
I was worried about storing my dress at home too. I've kept it at the store I bought it for safe keeping. That way I figured if something happens to it they are on the hook for any damage.
I bought my dress at vows last August and am also getting married in October. They told me at vows to keep it in the bag with the zipper opened about 3 inches in a cool place out of sunlight. I check on it every time I go to my mom and it is fine. Just hang it in the closet and leave the bag open a little bit. You'll be fine.
After my final fitting my MOH will be keeping my dress in her apt. That way FH doesn't see it by accident. I would assume the dress will be in a big zip bag but I am going to call them closer to the fitting date.
