dress stress - please help!

Ok so I've been wasting time not going for my dress, i've been putting it off because I've been wanting to lose some weight before going through the hell known as wedding dress shopping. but with not enough time left, it's finally time to go....

can any of you ladies please recommend a good place where i can go for my dress? looking for good prices, good service, possibly plus sized samples, and professionalism toward plus sized brides. and a place with a quick turn-around for dresses (because it's almost march, i need to have that dress ready to go pretty soon - ugh i should've done this already i know i know)

i need a reliable place because i can't afford to waste anymore time.

oh, and being from brooklyn, i'm looking for a place in the nyc area if any of you ladies know of places around here please recommend.

thanks so much ladies!!!

I felt just the way you did before going for a dress. I am a plus size bride as well. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the dresses didn't look as bad as I though it would. I actually looked decent in almost everything I tried on.

I was disappointed, however, that there were hardly any dresses with sleeves. They are all sleeveless, strapless, etc.

Anyway, there is a David's Bridal in Queens. I can't remember which town. Look them up at Davidsbridal.com. There is also one in Westbury at The Source Mall.

RK Bridal in Manhattan is also a very decent choice. They have a large variety of plus size dresses to try on and they have decent prices. Their fitting rooms are huge and the person I dealt with was not exactly friendly, but she wasn't mean either. She was indifferent.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions please let me know.

If you go to RK bridal, request Karen, she was great.
In Brooklyn, Lotus Bridal is where I ordered my dress, and I loved them. I had a horrible experience at David's Bridal in westbury, I'd look at the one in Queens, I think theres one in Long Island City.
I know what you are going through, I waited until December to order mine. At lotus, they said it was only 4 months. for 100 more you can rush order it, and for peace of mind that may be worth it.
Good luck, and remember, you will be beautiful, no matter what.
Oh, also try Lillettes in Baldwin, they aren't too far from brooklyn.
