So a few weeks after I got engaged my mom and my cousin/ Maid Of Honor took me to a bridal shop to look around. The very first dress i tried on i LOVED like, seriously loved. I didn't buy it because I figured it was my first time dress shopping so i probably loved it because it was the first wedding dress i ever tried on...and it was way too early. I've tried on a bunch of other dresses after that and they were all amazing but i didn't get knocked away by any of them. The other day I looked at the picture of my in it and I really look so nice in it (it takes a lot for me to ever say that about myself) So now i feel like i need to go back and try it on again. My question is, is it far too early to get a dress? my wedding isn't until june 2012...buttt what if they stop making the dress and then i cant get it anymore!
Have any of you girls gotten your dress yet?

Re: Dress? too soon?
I think its too early. I would have been dress shopping if my wedding date was happening in 2011 as planned but now..no I'm waiting.

Actually.. I have a wedding dress AND a reception dress already. I went to the Filene's Running of the Brides for fun and I loved 2 different dresses, so I picked up both. I mean.. if you find 'the one,' then how can you say no?

Crashing- It is early to get a dress however.. some dresses take 8 months to come in if not more! How many dresses have you tried on after the one you love? If you tried on a bunch and none of them give you that feeling that might be 'the one' I would go to a few shops soon try on a bunch more and then if you feel the same.. go for it! I have a few friends that lost their dream dress because they waited. The dresses got discontinued. You can always find another dress but all of them said that the dress they wore on their wedding day was not 'the dress of their dreams' I ordered mine early and so did my BF... and guess what.. both of ours have been discontinued so we are glad we ordered them when we did. If you are 100% set on it I say go for it! What does it look like? I love wedding gown pics!

Re: Dress? too soon?
I think its totally cool to start looking at dresses so you know what will fit right no you and what you like. However, it may be too early to actually BUY the dress b/c you may start second guessing yourself or find something else you adore.
I would ask the shop if they can take your info down. One of the places I was looking at originally did that because they knew I was going overseas, and said that if the dress got discontinued or something and I needed to order or lose it, they would let me know. That gave me some more time to think about it.
That being said, I already did order my dress (a different one I think), because I was going overseas and wasn't sure if I would be back in enough time to pick one out. I love my dress... no I didn't cry... and I've seen lots of other beautiful dresses as well, but I like not having to worry about rushing to find a dress the few times that I am back home.

Re: Dress? too soon?
i think its gorgeous but honestly id tell the place to let you know if its being discontinued before buying it. so many girls change their minds after buying a dress so early. Trust me, I've seen it...a lot.

Re: Dress? too soon?
Oh! Now I can see it! It's beautiful!
Just one question... did it make you cry? If not, then it might be beautiful... but there's a chance it might not be 'the one' and unless you absolutely positively 100% sure.. then it might be good to wait.
On the hand, my friend didn't cry, but she LOVED her dress and no other compared, so she went back about a month later and bought it.

Re: Dress? too soon?
Ah Im not too sure, I think its wayy too early to start looking at dresses. But thats just my opinion. I know I plan on losing weight (and who knows lets hope not, i may gain). My taste changes everyday ha and new styles come out all the time
however, if you are positive you love this one, maybe you should get it considering some girls had the point that it may be discontinued!
