Dresses

Did you guys purchase your dress before your bridal parties or other way around? Im sure it doesnt really matter but Im just curious. I dont plan on starting my dress shopping for another month but was hoping to start my girls soon.

I haven't gotten my dress yet, but I plan on going this summer. When I am there, I plan on looking at BM dresses, but I think I will definitely order my dress first - it is more important to me!

I think only cause I heard the wedding dresses take longer to be ordered and arrive I will be getting mine first. But in the meantime I've had my eyes open for BM dresses

i got mine before the girls went for theirs but it really doesnt matter it just happen to workout that way

I purchased my dress 1st. They said it would take 9 months to come in and they were right, it was exactly 9 months. They said 6 months on the bm dresses

Where did you get your dress from. I plan on looking at the 7 1/2 month mark. If anything Ill have to pay the rush lol.

I ordered mine in December 2010 and ordered the BMs in April 2011. My dress took 5 months to come in and the BM dresses will be in late July, which is about 3 months after ordering. Its true that depending on the shop and on the brand of the dress, it can take longer for the bridal gown to come in. Most things I've read recommend dress shopping at least 10 months in advance to allow time for it to come in and alterations. I think BM dresses are usually recommended to be ordered at least 6 months in advance, again depending on the store and the designer it can take different times to come in.

Personally, I wanted to order my dress first so that I knew that my BM dresses would kind of fit with the style of my gown. But if you have found the perfect BM dress and know you won't change your mind, then I say go for it.

I got mine abt a year out and the girl are ordering theirs bwtn 8 and 9 months.. it doesnt really matter but to me it was imp to have an idea of what to look for the girls based on my dress
