So being that my Wedding is less then a year and a half away now I decided to start trying dresses on. I don't want to order anything till December but it takes me forever to make decisions so I wanted to start early. I've already tried on over 50 dresses and I don't feel like I've found the one yet. There is 1 (out of 50 lol) that I love alot, and my mom loved it in the store. But the next morning she tells me she was looking at the pictures on her phone the night before and she doesn't really like it anymore I know it is my wedding but I want my mom to like my dress, ya know? BTW It is the Jovi by Maggie Sottero, which I didn't think I'd like looking at it on the hanger or online.
They say you'll know when its the one, but I feel like I can't find it because the dress that is the one for me is too expensive and so I have this idea in my head of what I love and want (Eve of Milady and Pinina Tornai Ball Gown) and nothing is comparing to that fantasy. Anyone else have this problem? Maybe I just need time to accept the fact that it just isn't happening? lol

I think maybe because you KNOW you have plenty of time you're going to explore your options so much more. If you were to wait until December and the clock is ticking I think your impulses will tell you 'This is the dress!'
I'd definitely want to take pictures of myself in the dress to see how I look, but I wouldn't keep them. I'd definitely get sick of the dress or become unimpressed if I could see it everyday.
Another thing, looking at a picture of yourself in the dress when your hair and make-up aren't done really change the look of the dress. I HATED the bridesmaid dress my friend picked out for her wedding a few weeks ago, literally DREADED wearing it - once we had our make-up, hair, jewelry, flowers...the dresses were amazing!
Just my opinions :) Hope I helped!

I knew what type of dress I wanted, so when I found one that I thought really flattered me, and my mom, FMIL, MOH, and grandmas all LOVED I (aka my mom) put a deposit on it.
I just didn't want to look and try on a ton more dresses because I've always found that the more stuff I try on the more I get confused. And the more I keep on second thinking EVERYTHING. So, I just am stopping. I see it on a lot of bridal shows too. Maybe you should just stop trying on dresses now until you are ready to purchase one?

I think that watching shows like Say Yes to The Dress and stuff has screwed with my head! LoL I've been dress shopping with a bunch of my friends and not everyone of them has that burst into tears moment when they find their dress! If you feel beautiful and you're comfortable, go for it! Don't over think it, let your body decide! :)

Thank you everyone. I do think that I need to take a step away and go in with a clear head. If I found one that I loved I would buy it, I just haven't found one that I didn't want to take off or kept thinking about for days after trying it on. I always dreamed of wearing an Eve of Milady but when I got engaged and found out how much they cost it burst my bubble. I think I just keep comparing everything I try on to them and nothing compares. Was thinking about going to the Kleinfelds Sample Sale on Sept 16th and praying they have a few to look at
LOL I think those shows have messed with my head too!! I won't watch say yes to the dress anymore, I told myself I have to stop haha.
