Help! My sister is getting married (for the first time) at 42 yrs old. She's asked me (47 yrs old) and our other sis (46 yrs old) to be her attendants, I guess 'matrons' of honor! Where is a good place to look for dresses for people our age? We're all in decent shape and look good for our ages, but none of us wants to look silly in dresses meant for 20-somethings. Thanks guys for any input.

Look in formal wear in department stores. Since there are only a few of you -- you could probably all find a dress that you like. You could even go for different styles in the same color if your sister would go for that. Then you would each be comfortable in what you are wearing. There are lots of choices.

My MOH and BM are both early 40s and we found formal dresses at Talbots. They are beautiful, and reasonable compared to most bridesmaids dresses, and can be worn again and again. YOu can find Talbots online at Talbots.com, and can also find stores in your or their area where they can go look at dresses.

You can also try Lord and Taylor, Norstroms or Bloomingdales. Perhaps you can chose a color and then get different dresses. Or you can each wear a complimentary color. I think it is great that you are all going to be in the bridal party.
